Kale?

  • I bought some kale today at the grocery store. Now, how do I prepare it?
    Thanks!
  • I recalled this thread:

    Perhaps some massaged kale?
  • I loooooooooove kale chips. They're like in between potato chips and popcorn - all you taste is fat and salt. We've actually only gotten kale from our CSA and I wish I could get it in the grocery store.

  • Yes, kale chips are super good. It feels like you are cheating. I can even get my two year old that hates veggies to eat them. They are super easy to make too!
  • I just made kale today!! it is great.

    So:
    Cut the steam out..
Break kale into bit size pieces
Spread all the Kale out on a cutting board and spray it with olive oil pam
Take come apple cider vinegar and put some into a bowl. (about 1/3 cup)
Make sure the Kale gets soaked in the vinegar.
Spread the kale onto a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. None can be on top of each other
Then add seasoning to what you like. I sprinkled sea salt, black pepper, and paprika.

    Oven:
    250 F
Bake until Kale is completely dry, it took about 30 min but I checked a lot.

    Yummy Yummy
  • We've been eating kale salad - kale dressed with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, a little bit of feta, chopped red onion, and some pine nuts. It's addictive.
  • I love massaged kale! I can't get enough of it.

This sounds delicious and quite addictive!! But eating it raw will get you the most nutrition punch by far! Cooking it down, while it may taste good, will ruin most of the nutrients.
I generally buy romaine and then one other green each week. I try to change it up, lately I have been enjoying rabini very much and I'm missing it this week since I didn't get to the store yet.
Anyway, if you're having a hard time with it raw since most greens have a distinct flavor, add a little to a romaine salad. Then slowly add more and more. I did this with the rabini, and now I adore rabini!!

    Either way though, ENJOY it!!

    It's not cooked, it's a raw salad
