Hiya...

  • Hello,

I have been around the block several times...been up and down, left and right..

I am starting it all again, this time not because I wanna fit into this dress or that really cute pair of jeans...but because I wanna see my daughter walk down the aisle in a white wedding gown and I wanna hold and smell that newborn my son will hand over to me beaming with pride.

I am 36. Afraid of my scale. I wear a size 24. My goal is a size 16.
I am 5 feet 10ish closer to 11 inches. I have insomnia, depression, chronic back pain, and hormonal imbalance.

At one point I dyed my hair because it was fun, now I dye it every 3 weeks to cover the grey...

Can someone tell me how to measure myself...
  • Welcome to 3FC =)

    Congratulations on starting your journey

Here's a link that might help with how to take measurements: http://exercise.about.com/od/weightl...osstrack_2.htm

You can customize depending on what you'd like to do

Best of wishes on your journey and hope to see you around the boards!
  • Thank You So Much Lovely!!

I measured myself and shocked to say that my arms are as big as my calves...

Gonna take slow little baby steps...

Can I ask...are you counting calories?? How many do you have a day??

Thank you sooo much for saying hi!!

I'm a Weight Watchers member, actually so I count Points. It's similar to calories, but not exactly the same of course. (Plus the fact that there are meetings/centers, etc.)

When I "translate" my full day into calories (which I sometimes do to keep track of my fat/protein/carbs percentages), I end up at about 1,800 - 2,000 calories a day currently. Each day wavers, on average, between there.

If you're curious about Calorie Counting, there's a section linked here that might help you start.

I tend to like the site MyFitnessPal.com for counting calories, but there are a TON of sites, so you just have to find the one you like.

Keep in mind that losing weight/inches can take some time, and trial and error.

PS - You might like the 300+ Club, the 100lb Club, the 30-something's section just to start. Plus, of course all the other supportive areas around the boards

If you have questions, just ask! People are generally helpful around here and we love to see people succeed.
