Justin Timberlake was at my gym!

  • So a few days ago I heard a lot of chatter just before yoga class started, something about some hot guy who was working out at our gym the day before, turns out they were talking about Justin Timberlake! Apparently he's in town working on a song or album with Pharrel Williams (Pharrel is from this town). So I told my Fiance and my roommate "J.T was at the gym getting his sweat on" and my roommate was amused that I called him "J.T" and I joked about how "J.T and I go way back and we are just cool like that". The next day I left the gym with my Fiance and as we were unlocking our bikes from the bike rack I looked up and who did I see walk towards us.....J.T and his bodyguard! I didn't want to be a nuisance but I couldn't resist, so I asked for a picture of him, he asked me to go in the picture with him because he felt silly standing alone in pictures, he wasn't very friendly at all but he did fake a smile for the picture and texting my roommate the picture of "J.T" and I had her in stitches. Of course I look a hot mess, unshowered from the day before, just worked out for 2 hours and shoved on an ugly baggy shirt- typical! Not that I'm even really a fan of J.T, but lots of folks wanted to see the picture, I don't think they really payed much attention to me though. And the whole time I was standing beside him so many things were running through my head, like the phrase "Dance biscuits!" (see attached link if you don't get the reference), but I didn't want to seem like I have Justin Timberlake tourret syndrome. The best part of it all was that I had asked my roommate and our other female friend to go to the gym that morning and they both said "no", they both think Justin Timberlake is so sexy, when they both seen the picture I just said "See, told you that you should have came and worked out!".

  • haha i heard about that. i live in virginia beach too, and a friend of mine saw him and his entourage in p.f. changs.
  • This is awesome! Oh my..when I was in my early teens, Justin Timberlake was definitely my ultimate crush. My room was absolutely plastered with his pictures, and I definitely had a meltdown when my mom got me and my friend tickets to the NSYNC concert. Ahh to be 13 again

    How fun for you!!
  • I think I would have passed out. I've had a crush on him for more than 10 years. haha.
  • Well ladies, I'm about to go to the gym again today, if I see him in there I'll try sneak a picture of him getting hot and sweaty for y'all.

    Please do
  • you said he wasn't friendly at all? How so? I hate when I hear celebs aren't friendly just proves to me more that they think they are so much better then everyone else.

Well I said "I'm sorry to bug you but could I please take a picture of you?" and he just looked annoyed and shrugged as if to say "yeah, I suppose", about 4 seconds had passed by as I was digging in my gym bag for my phone and his bodyguard said "Can we hurry this up?!", I'd understand if I had been digging for a long time. Then he asked me to go in the pic but not in a friendly way, then he forced a smile and walked away and I thanked him and he didn't squeeze out so much as a "you're welcome". Whatever, I got my pic and have been teasing my two friends who didn't go workout, it was worth it, if I see him again I won't even say a single thing to him. I understand he gets bugged non stop, but he picked that life and gets payed a lot, people asking for autographs and pics is part of his job, in my opinion. It was disappointing that he wasn't even a bit friendly since I always imagined him this really funny guy and it made me feel like a bit of an ***. He's pretty tall and slender, that's his bodyguard in the background, he wasn't a very big guy at all, if I hadn't know any better I would have just thought they were two regular dudes, they didn't stand out, other than their flashy s.u.v.
  • Quote: I've never been a fan of Justin Timberlake. No particular reason, really. I just don't find him attractive, and he seems to have a bit of an ego, which is even more of a turn off for me, and would be even if I did find him attractive. But, to be fair, and maybe this is only my opinion because I'm very NOT a look-at-me kind of person, and it weirds me out to be the center of attention, but I think it'd be so annoying to not be able to go about my day, especially with something so monotonous as a gym run, without people bothering me. So, I kind of feel for him. People say "Well, this is what you signed up for," and I disagree. He signed up to be an entertainer, but that doesn't mean he isn't human.

Yeah, I do see your point. However, since this happened I've heard he was quite rude in general from three different people, two people work at the gym and one lady who asked very politely for a picture was told "no" quite abruptly and given a dirty look. The girl who works at the reception at my gym told me that Justin and his bodyguard were given free access to the gym for four days (costs any non member $20 per day usually) and was given two nice t-shirts (our gym has their own line of clothing and it's actually nice), apparently he didn't express any gratitude, even when she went out of her way and gave him a private room to work out in, there is a room that alternates between men and women and one day it's co-ed, this day it was women's day but nobody was in there so she offered the room to him and he didn't even say thanks. So in general he was rude and ungrateful, but he's more than likely been given the royal treatment since childhood......so he's used to people going above and beyond and maybe to him there's nothing to be extra thankful for. Now whenever I see him on t.v, I just think "rude!".
  • I also live in Virginia Beach... had no clue he was in the area. Stinks he's so rude to people and acts all entitled. He was probably nice to you cause you're cute!

  • This isn't the first time I've heard that he isn't particularly nice to fans. Oh well, at least you got your pics

Awe, thank you! Hey, I'm always looking for healthy folk to do healthy activities with, I live by the Oceanfront and walk, cycle etc often- if you're interested then p.m me.
  • I live near Val Kilmer and in the past I have not had the best run ins with him. I always heard he was rude and I had experienced him being very rude quite a few times.

A couple years ago I had applied for a job nearby for a Wild life Refuge and Sustainable living. The position was an assistant to the organizer. I had the first interview and found out at that time I would possibly be working for Val Kilmer. I was invited to the Ranch for a second interview. I have to say he was a incredibly nice guy! He was funny, sweet, charming and even cooked me lunch. I unfortunately didn't get the job since I lacked one skill that was important. Which is ok though, now for my Birthday he calls to wish me a happy birthday and I am welcome to the ranch anytime.
  • I'm jealous!!
  • That's funny! I guess I can see both sides to his rudeness, on the one hand he is incredibly lucky and rich but on the other if you were bothered all the time every day for years and years I'm sure it's harder to see the positivity in that. Fame, to me, would be awful. You couldn't do anything normal without someone knowing who you are. But I also can't stand rude people - he did choose that life so he should deal with it with more grace.

    Either way, great story!
