Good Morning

I figure the Delta crew will be a tad quiet this morning after staying up way too late last night...we'll see if I'm right.

We're travelling this morning so I figured I might as well get things going. I'll be all the way into Denver to p/u my sis then we'll wind back through town...have lunch (Whole Foods) and do some shopping. Tonight we'll have a little party for my mom (90 today) but, as usual, dinner will be SBD friendly...except the cake which isn't too bad.

I know I haven't been around much...things are hectic around here w/ training and, right now, the Little League World Series playoffs. Other than that things are good. Still plateaued at 95 pounds lost and it's driving me crazy. I think I'm going to have to switch up my cardio and see if it helps.

Anyway, I hope everybody is doing well.

Great to hear from you! I know you're super busy these days. I'm just thinking how much weight you've lost! Your body just needs some catch up time...integration. Take care and we'll see you the next time you manage to sneak in!

Thanks, Lexxiss. I was just thinking the other day that I need to be on here more often b/c maybe it would help motivate me to get my butt to the gym more regularly than I did in July!!! LOL

Hey All,
August 1 today. I love the start of a new month. Things have already started to pick up at work (first day of classes is 8/15 I think) so in a way, it already feels like summer is over. But, we've still got our beach vacation at the end of the month, and then my son's school starts the following week, so it will be a double new year.

Things are good here...I'm finding I'm just very depressed about my mom most of the time. Probably doesn't help that this is coming at exactly the same time I'm sort of going through a mid life crisis. Coming face to face with your own mortality for the first real time just sucks. I'm told eventually I will move to a new plane of understanding, I just hope so! In any case, I'm doing a lot of spiritual work around these issues, which I know is good, and basically do accept that right now I'm exactly where I should be, even if it doesn't feel all that comfortable.

I'm hoping to break my own plateau this week too. Friday's weigh in is the one that will really "count." Hope everyone has a great day!

Good morning Lexxis, Natasha and Mmck. I'm hoping everyone starts the month off on a good note. I'm paying some bills before I have to head off to work. Just wanted to wish everyone a happy SBD day!!!

Good morning It's back to work for me today. Just 23 more days plus a couple of weekend days and I'll be done with this portion of the adventure. Can't wait to see what's next!

Matilda - I feel like I'm just coming out the other side of that though my life is still in some flux. Some deep breaths and a sense of humor helped me.

Nothing special today - just a staff meeting day (I'll wave in the general direction of Delta when I hit Montpelier). Best thing about staff meetings is the Co-op there. They carry ends of Grafton cheddar for a ridiculously low price. I'll miss that.

I can't believe it is August already. Yesterday we went to a get-together held by the local USC Alumni chapter and DS got to meet all the other kids from the area going this year; we got to meet several parents. Love that they did that. Two weeks from today we hit the road to take him!

I've canceled going to the gym today and will sit by the phone waiting to hear from the dentist office. Hoping they get me in today to start replacing my darn crown. I've only eaten on the other side of my mouth all weekend!

My job has changed a bit and I now work on Mondays as Manager on Duty(not my fave) and I am only on the floor 3 days per week... also more meetings, blah blah blah... SO far so good though, it is a bump up on the ladder... well, I hope everyone has a great day!!!

The start of a new month, and a new commitment for me. I started SB last year at the same time, dropped about 15 lbs, felt great, clothes fit so much better, and then the holidays hit! Then a cold, hard winter where I craved comfort foods like fresh baked breads and my scale started to creep back up. I haven't gained much, but I've noticed. This time around I plan on adding more exercise which has never been a favorite but at my age is necessary. I have started my menu for the week, and will be hitting the grocery store and farmer's market this afternoon. Fingers crossed that I can stick to phase 1 as easily as I did last year. Time to go again!

Good morning everyone (it's still morning if it's before noon, right?!)!
Glad everyone is excited about the new month and going into it with a positive attitude. MMCK, hope you find a good place, acceptance is the first step to any situation. Easier said than done, I know, but you have a lot of support!

I'm on vacation from work this week and have so much going on! On today's agenda a friend is picking me up at noon for some coffee and shopping, then I have some dishes and laundry calling my name. Then I'm going roller skating with another friend, then home for a late dinner with the hubs. And today is my "rest" day for the week!

I started up roller derby last month after being out of it for almost a year. For those of you who have never seen (modern) roller derby you should take the time to check it out at least once. It is so much different from the theatrical derby of the 70's. It's a real sport with real penalties and real contact (NOT clothes-lining, elbows to the face, fist fighting!). It's really getting my butt in gear with my weight loss. I have never "dieted" and "exercised" at the same time. I don't enjoy the gym or running or going to aerobics classes. However roller derby- I LOVE. And being committed to SBD at the same time is really going to help get this weight off.

I wanted to come in early this morning but things are just too hectic at work. I hope everyone is doing well.

Is anyone else retaining water due to heat? We have had a heat wave for over 14 days. I was outside in the heat most of the day Saturday due to Swim conference and the next morning I was up 4 lbs??? I know it's not possible to gain 4 lbs overnight but seriously mad about this, it only went down 1 lb this morning and it is not TOM time.

DD2 did extremely well at conference she took 2nd place for the 3 events she was in. So proud of her for her first year swimming.

Okay off to get more work done. Have a great afternoon everyone

I am officially DONE with grad school! Time to concentrate back on Me So happy, I cried when I hit submit on the last assignment!

So, at 2p, I am heading to the gym then to food shop. Good to know that in less than 4 weeks, we'll be moved into our new place and I will have a gym at the ready!

Sorry no personals today, I have to get out of my jammies! I've been chained to this computer way too much.
