Sodium and Low Carb..

  • So I have been counting my calories and keeping track of what I eat on caloriecount.com. I noticed that with all my meals that I track since I have started, that my sodium is way too high.. I am also trying to do the low carb and it seems like that might have something to do with it? Anyone else eating more sodium with the lower carb thing? I have been walking and going to the gym and I will be upset if my weight is hindered by the sodium intake (which I know it probably will.) I am wondering if I should stop the low carb and just eat more veggies and fresh fruit.. Ugh how could I let myself get this way?!
  • I'm currently on a low carb/high protein eating plan and haven't found a significant increase in sodium. What are you considering too high? What types of protein are you eating?
  • Are you eating a lot of preserved/processed foods or eating out? That can tend to make you sodium jump through the roof.

I have to be honest I don't check for sodium... right now it's all I can do to try and stay low-carb. Well, low-carb is a misnomer. I really mean low bread/grains/starchy veggies.
  • watch processed foods
  • Maybe that site I am using is counting it up wrong, I don't now.. I haven't really been eating any processed foods or eating out. I am just concerned that this will hinder my weight loss..
