Favorite mini-goals

  • I am heading towards my 5% goal after my first month. I am pleased with my progress so far. I think what has helped my success is tracking, WW meetings, and, while I do not post often, 3FC WW forums for inspiration and ideas.

    I think I saw a thread not too long ago regarding mini-goal rewards. Since I am heading to my 5%, I want to reward myself. What have been some of your favorite mini-goal rewards that you have had, are waiting for, or read about?
  • When I met my first 5% goal I got a book for myself that I really wanted!
  • My first reward was a book at 5%.

    Then for my second reward which was reaching 299 -and- sticking to program for 3 months, I splurged a little on new clothes. (2 pairs of pants, 3 tops, a belt) Ones that will last me a good 50 pounds or more.

    My plans are to continue to reward myself with books or little items for every 5%, but then every set of 3 months to "splurge" on a new piece of clothing or something bigger.

  • My first mini goal was 20 pounds lost, for which I rewarded myself with a pedicure.

    Second mini goal is 40 pounds is a get away day with my BFF

    Third mini goal is 60 pounds which is a shopping spree (funded by my mom, woohoo!).

    Fourth mini goal is GOAL (not sure on the amount yet, probably when I hit 135), which will be a weekend away with my hubby.
  • I prefer rewards for time on plan instead of amount of weight lost. I fluctuate a lot; sometimes I do everything right and the scale goes up (a lot). Other times, I do stupid things and the scale goes down. I don't want to reward myself for stupidity or deny myself when the scale is punishing me for no reason.

    Anyway, I often have to kill some time near a mall while my daughter take a class, so a 10 minute seat massage for a week on plan works well for me.

    For larger amounts of weight lost, rewards make more sense because the fluctuations come out in the wash.

    My mini-goals are posted below in my signature. I figured my first reward was appropriate because it was something I needed and it rewarded a habit. My second goal is actually free since I just have to redeem a gift certificate. I might change my 3rd and 4th goals to reward habits as well as weight lost.

    For my 10% I got new sneakers like kariatari and for under 200 lbs I got new danskos. I am almost to my 15% goal and I will get my hair done. I'm excited for my iPod and new workout clothes!!
  • I looooove Danskos, MrsD! I have a pair of the black Brielle boots and I love them so much that I think I'm going to snag them in brown when I find them on sale!
