Doing a little happy dance :D

  • Not trying to toot my own horn or anything, but I am really excited and wanted to share with all of you! I am only on my 3rd day, and before Monday I was completely sedentary. I would maybe go for a walk once a week, but the rest of the time I was pretty much sitting around the house, it's just been so hot here and between my weight and the 112 degree temp, I just have been pretty lazy.

Firstly, although my weight might not seem very high, it has made a huge impact on my small frame. I am 5'2 and have a very small bone structure. My 8 yr old and I both have the same size hands and we share shoes, lol. When I hit 142 I bawled 142 was the exact weight I was the day I went in to give birth to my 2nd daughter, at 9 months pregnant! When that number popped up about a month ago I was like "absolutely not"! But, did I decide to exercise more or eat better... of course not! I decided to try fasting... that lasted about 1 day. Then I decided to eat only meat, with 0 carbs and nothing else. It had worked before. After 4 days I got sick and felt awful, even my bones hurt. And guess what, I could not get below 140!!! I just wanted to see 139 at least, but it wasnt happening.

I pretty much decided at that point that 34 yrs was obviously my unlucky number, and I was doomed with my new body... but then I decided last week to try one more time. I knew I wanted to do something that was positive, something that was healthy and that was going to benefit my life, something I could feel good about. So I researched, and obviously I came across SBD. It sounded good, I read the whole book and really liked the whole idea of it.

So, as I said, only 3 days in, but this morning I decided to sneek a peek just to see if anything was happening... and I weighed 138! I know it's probably water weight, and that it may be the only weight I do lose during phase one, but to just see that 3 there instead of a 4!!! It has just really motivated me. I know I can do this Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post, Im just feeling so elated and wanted to share. Glad Im here
  • Congrats!
  • good job! Weight off is weight off! Be proud!!!

  • Yay Brandy! I second what Jenne said - weight is weight, be proud of every pound!
  • Congratulations!
  • WEIGH to go!!!
  • Good for you! I love the encouragement of faster weight loss at the beginning. Just seeing a new number is such motivation. It gives you the confidence to keep working to see the number go even lower!
  • Excellent news!!!
  • Good for you! And I get it. I'm 5'2.5" (and I count every bit of it since I have already shrunk a quarter inch!) and on my body, 5 pounds is a whole pant or dress size!
  • Way to go!!
  • Congratulations, Brandy! A pound is a pound, no matter whether it's water or fat in my book.
  • Congratulations. That IS AWESOME!

My daughter is now one and when she was 8 months old I realized I had gained back all weight I'd lost and now weighed the same as I did PREGNANT! It is quite a motivator.

Glad SB is working for you. I am on day 2!
  • Woo Hoo! That is so awesome! I know exactly how you feel.. just think you are in the 3's and soon you will see the 2's
  • Thanks everyone for sharing my excitement Im so glad to be a part of such an amazing group of people!
