NSV - Ran My First 5K!

  • I'm really proud of myself. I ran my very first 5K in 41 minutes. My goal was just to finish, running or walking and my stretch goal was to run the whole way. I ran the whole, entire way, keeping a pretty slow pace the whole time. I'm really proud of myself and ready to sign up to run another one in August.
  • You can be really proud of this accomplishment! Even in my younger days I wasn't a runner, so anyone who runs really impresses me. I barely run in my cardio classes, so I feel like this is a big deal for you. Keep up the fantastic work.

  • I am impressed you ran the whole time! I hate hate hate to run but it's my goal to get better at it. Good for you, chica!
  • Congratulations! That's VERY impressive. I was all signed up for my first 5K, but have since been sidelined by a minor surgery and some healing - just finishing was always my goal, too.

Way to go on running the whole thing!
  • congrats to you for running the whole 5k!

i'm determined to run eventually. i can't wait to post that i've ran in a 5k
  • Thanks! I'm doing the C25K plan on my iPhone, it really helped.
  • That's a great accomplishment, and you ran the whole way! I hope to do the same one day. how long did you train for this one?

That's a good question. I started with the C25K Podcasts last summer but I never made it past week one. In December I joined my gym where I do interval training, like 9 minutes with weights, 9 on the treadmill, etc. Eventually I started running on the Treadmill. Then this Spring I went back to doing C25K, but this time using an app. on my iPhone and my music. I'm actually only on week 5 but I have been working on running steadily since Dec. I hope that makes sense.
  • Congrats JessLess!!! You did great, and you beat my best time of 49m46s. :0)
  • Congratulations! That's amazing, I bet you feel fantastic for accomplishing the 5K. I hope to do the same by November.
  • Thanks! A little sore today.
