Steamed veggies with soups ~ need help

  • Hi, I am new and will be starting on Monday. My coach told me something about steaming vegetables like cauliflower and broccolli and adding them to the soup. She said you can steam a big batch and measure it out in individual servings and freeze them.

Could anyone help me with this. I have never steamed a vegetable in my life.
    Does anyone else do this??

Do you put the soup, water and steamed vegetables in a blender and then warm it up??

what I do to steam veg is I have a tupperware steamer where you put water in the bottom and then the veggies in the steam basket then put it into the microwave for up to 5 min. Then my favorite soup is the broccoli cheese. To mix that I boil water in a kettle and then mix the soup and hot water together, I usually eat it more as a sauce instead of soup. I pour this over the steamed veggies.
other option is, you can buy steamer bags and there are instructions on it. Hope that helps... steaming veggies are the easiest.
