  • Hi ladies! Quite a few of you posted your year end goals in JMfan's thread,, and a few of you thought it would make a great challenge for us all.

So here it is! No sign ups required, you can hop in at any time, just visit the spreadsheet here:

    https://spreadsheets.google.com/spre...thkey=CLvIg64E

All you need to do is put your name on the left, your current weight in the yellow column, your goal weight in the green column (all the way over to the right!) and voila!

Week 1 will commence on Monday 4th July, since we all weigh in different days feel free to enter your weight whenever you see fit! (No pun intended)

I think that's about it. Let's do this! Good luck everyone!

UPDATE! As of 14th August there is a CHALLENGE! Just keep entering those weights and I'll do the rest - check back to see how well you're doing overall. Here are the details:

    YEAR END GOAL CHALLENGE...CHALLENGE!

Hello everyone! I love how involved people are in this challenge, the amount of contestants in this is amazing. But I think we can do better. I think we need a little bit of competition. So that's why I've started up this challenge within the overall challenge.

It's purely based on how much you lose each week and your overall weight loss. This will all be calculated by the percentage of weight loss. There will be an overall chart to document your overall awesomeness.

BUT THEN! There will be 3 camps. I've spent a long time working out all of your goals (of those who have entered weights in the last 2 weeks) and I've divided you into groups based on how much you want to lose overall.

This is because there are simply SO MANY OF YOU. I think it makes it fair to have little charts to break up the competition so that you can compete with people who have similar goals to you. I will start working out the overall chart as well as the weekly charts soon and get back to you all. GOOD LUCK!
  • sweet! was thinking to start a new yrs goal thread, but was wondering if it was too early? glad you did though...when are you weighing in?
  • Well I counted the weeks to the end of year from Monday 4th, so I'm going to record my regular Sunday weigh in - so that'll be the 10th. Figured I'd let the spreadsheet be open for a while to let people gather and enter their stats =).
  • Added myself and Jumelle (with her permission ) to the chart. Since we already have weigh-ins on Mondays and Thursdays, then we'll go with Monday for this challenge too.
  • Cool beans! Glad to see that the chart is starting to fill itself out. Make sure you put those goal weights in there too =)

    Fixed.
  • woo yeah!

I soo want to join this...I've been inspired to actually go and get a battery for my scales :P
  • Woot! I love these.. they're always in the back of my mind when I'm not wanting to go to the gym, or wanting to cheat on my diet!
  • TOM and over eating all day, nightmare, so this is a good kick back and get on track.. stupid TOM grrrr
  • Signed up! I was going to put 190 as my goal (28 pounds), but decided what the heck, might as well go for what I really want. 180 goal weight it is.

My parents will be floored if I show up for Xmas at 180. They would never tell me I'm fat, but every now and then I get the "Have you considered picking up racquetball again?" convo or something along those lines. And yes, I do have an abiding love of racquetball but it's too embarrassing to play with strangers when I turn bright red after 15 minutes and jiggle.

They also have lots of "concerned talks" about my half-brother who is a big guy (there is real concern he will have a heart attack or other weight-related issue, it's not a "looks" thing). And I always feel there are thinly-veiled comments about me floating in there somewhere.
  • my2cats - It's funny you say that, I've always had that fantasy that someone close to me in my life won't see me for ages, I lose a bunch of weight, and then see them and wow them with how great I look!
  • goal weight added

I thought i would also add that theres a cool chat function on the right hand side, which anyone currently on the document can use

Me too! I admit my final goal for next summer is due to a friend's wedding (and she hasn't even set a date yet.. she just got engaged.. so I may be jumping the gun. But I know all my college friends will be there when it does eventually happen!)

The funny thing is I know my parents won't say anything (because that would be implying they thought I was fat before) - but it'll be some slightly vague comment like "You look great, honey!" Ah parents hehe.
  • Riestrella - actually, the half way point of the year falls on July 2nd of non-leap years (coincidentally my birthday too), so I think starting July 4th is great because there's about 6 months to go before 2012 and hey you can never set a goal too early right?

My2Cats - I'm so with you on the surprising my parents thing. I've been away at school for the past 4 years and now live where I went to school, so even though I see my parents every month or two I always dream that when the holidays come around that I'll have lost enough for it to be noticeable!!

I'm thinking about joining you guys but I'm not really sure what I should put for a goal. I'm aiming for about 1 lb of loss a week overall, but when I think of goal I think of pushing myself beyond... does that make sense? I'll see where I'm at weight wise on Monday when we start, but if I do the challenge I'd like to aim for 30 - 35 lbs... kind of scary to commit to it though :x
  • That sounds pretty reasonable Michi - I set my goal at 38 pounds which is a tad high for me for 26 weeks, but I'll actually be pretty happy if I lose 28 - I just wanted a bit of a stretch goal to push myself.
