Guess what surgery does to your body

  • I still have 15 to 30 lbs to lose, just depending on how I look/feel when I reach the 15lb goal. But after surgery yesterday I have gained 10 lbs and my tummy looks like I'm pregnant. I was so proud of most of my weight being in my thighs and hips and having an almost flat tummy, and I feel so fat right now. Ugh. Oh well. I know it'll go down eventually. I'm just happy that I finally feel normal. My whole life I've had one breast that never developed, and one that was tuberous. They were a size at least different and didn't even change with weight loss or gain. So I got implants. I feel so proportional and amazing right now, besides the sore muscles. Now if only I didn't look pregnant..
  • It's just temporary. The even boobs, those are long-term. One of mine is at least a half size larger than the other. When I am thin, it is more obvious to me. I'd be willing to take a 10-lb gain for a couple days for nice even ta-tas. It is just the meds, IV fluid, etc.
  • Well congrats on the new girls!! I'm glad you're happy with them. The belly will go down, air often get's trapped after surgery and they push a lot of fluids through the I.V. during surgery. In 3-4 days you should be back to your old self. Again Congrats!!
  • Don't worry about it. Surgery causes massive swelling and water retention from your body being stressed and trying to heal itself. It isn't fat gain, it is simply superficial water weight.
  • I know it's all water. It just really emotionally messing with me. I gained 5" on my waist I can't wait until I deflate lol. And I can't wait until 3 weeks passes and I can work out again. Yay for even boobies though. I actually started crying when I saw them because I've never had a matching set before, let alone such beautiful ones.
  • So excited that you are happy! That is awesome!
and keep your head up! You will be back to working out before you know it!
  • Girl, like the others said - this is temporary. Surgery causes a lot of havoc on your body. Give it a week and you will lose most of it.

A perfect example of this... I was 215 when I went into the hospital to have a baby... I had my 8 lb 5 oz monster babe (via emergency c-section).... when I left the hospital (AFTER HAVING THE BABY) I was 225. Within a week and a half... I weighed 185. Just saying... the surgery caused me to put on A LOT OF WATER WEIGHT.

Wow! That's one heck of a woosh! Lol. I'm just not going to weight myself until my boobs start feeling better. I know these things are going to weigh about 3lbs that I can't get rid of.. but this pregnant looking tummy has got to go. lol. At least I still have some of my bigger jeans to wear if I decide to go out, and lots of sweat pants
