I think it depends on how much you currently weigh -- the heavier you are, the easier it is to realistically lose 10lb in a month. ALSO, I'd be careful not to do anything too crazy if you're having a cardiology procedure...
That said, my tricks are to really watch what I'm eating. Losing weight for me is 90% what I eat and 10% exercise. I try for lots of unprocessed foods, especially proteins, fruit and veggies, but I do still eat carbs. I just don't fill up on them. And I stopped drinking diet soda and starting drinking loads of water, around 50-60oz a day. I eat three meals and 2 snacks every day. Each thing is generally 3-4 hours apart. That's what works for me anyways, everyone's a bit different!
