199 Today ! whoo hoooo!

  • Stepped on the scale just to see if the numbers were correct from yesterday..... and was shocked to see that I have dropped 6 lbs ! That's after 4 days of MF !
Can't wait to see how much is gone by Saturday morning.
I know most of it, if not all of it is water weight...
    ....but a pound is a pound and I've lost 6 !!!

Makes eating the medicinal food worth it.
oh by the way ....the Chicken Noodle soup is pretty good. Or my taste buds are changing. I have a slight head ache this morning so I downed a bit more water. I might have to take something if the throbbing doesn't stop.

Wish I could have a signature... I wanna ticker
  • AWESOME! Congrats. I love those milestone numbers!

And even if it is water weight (and intestinal weight), you have to get those pounds "out of the way" so to speak anyway. So might as well get through 'em quick!
  • That is great!!!

Change your S/C/G listing by going to User CP, while you're waiting to qualify for a ticker!

    Stick with it!

    Jay
  • congrats!!
  • Thanks ! it's the little things.

Thanks for the tip JayEll....I forgot about the S/C/G
  • CONGRATULATIONS!!!! And lots of pats on the back for you. Weight loss can be an effort, a struggle, etc. But hitting a goal is a very good feeling.

  • Awesome! Just keep going
  • Congratulations on your progress!

I also use a product called weight commander to track my weight. I update it over the web, but the numbers are available only to me. But it also graphs the weights, so I can see daily progress. On up days, I can put it into perspective of the overall trend. Because I had that, I didn't mind waiting for the ticker.

I've actually been using the product for years. But this is the first structured diet I've been on, and it's also the first time that graph has taken almost a constant downslope.

The first week or two are your highest losses. After you settle into ketosis, it will be slower but steady progress.

When you hit your goals at the end, make sure you do the transition back to normal foods, or you may have a bounceback when your body readjusts to a normal diet. The transition is supposed to minimize that spike.
  • I hate to sound like I am bragging but it's so darn exciting to see the numbers go down.

I have only ever been on a "diet" once before in my life I went from 110 to 160 over the course of 2 kids and 2 years. I lost the 55 lbs in 3 months.I was younger and it was easy. I just watched what I ate.
I kept it off for 25 years even through a nasty divorce and several not so great relationships. I weighed 109 when I married again. Everything was going great till my husband became ill.
I guess I let myself go while taking care of him.

Now with MF I feel very strongly that this will be a great success. I have the tools and the willpower and the selfishness to get the job done.
    Yes
Selfishness. I have become selfish. This is time for me.
Last night DH asked me to cook dinner, I said no. Just like that ...I said no.
because I am a nibbler and I love to cook...and nibble. So I told him he is on his own till I lose this weight.
Today I took all the food out of the house that he will never eat and replaced it with easy to prepare foods for him. He has simple tastes but can eat stuff like pizza and pasta and never gain an ounce. He was a bachelor till well into his 40s so I know he can take care of feeding himself.
So that's it. He's on his own for at least two months. His health is fine now.
    I'm not getting any younger.
I need this weight to be gone.

I know this is just the beginning of a long walk with MF.
I must remind myself that the weight is not going to pour off this quickly every week.
I know I will have days where I want to eat "real" food.
There's a banana on the counter that keeps calling my name and I swear if he doesn't eat it I am going to flush it down the toilet.

sorry to go on and on....but I needed to get that out

    Summer
  • Way to go, Summer!!!!!!

This is what's keeping me happy with so few calories - I'm almost 7 weeks in, and I still lost 4 pounds last week. Yay me!

No guilt about being selfish about this - a smaller healthy body is the best gift you can give yourself AND your hubby!
  • yay grats!! happy for u and jealous
