Newbie looking for support

  • Morning, everyone! Woken up in middle of night with cysitis---again. Feeling so grotty and heavy, decided to get on the 'puter (hard chair seems to help latter condition!)and found this site.Weight seems to be out of control, and if I don't do something now I might as well roll over and die! So at 5:30a.m.,here I am--waiting to pee into a bottle for my doc(!)and asking for a little support from everyone (anyone?)I have just weighed in at my heaviest, and have 6st to lose. HELP!!!
  • hey hen I know the itis means inflammation but what is it ? are you on meds that contribute to weight? I take 3mg of pred a day and it makes it harder to loose. I am also new to this site. I hope you start feeling better.

  • Welcome to 3FC =)

You aren't alone. You don't have to make huge changes all at once in order to benefit from weight loss.

One by one, step by step we're all here making our lives just a bit healthier and supporting each other as we go.

You just weighed in at your heaviest. What to do now?

Food, movement, and the most important aspect...perseverance.

What 1 thing can you commit to today for your food? Drink water instead of sugar drinks? Use fruits and vegetables as snacks? Add in a serving of veggies at dinner? Maybe even writing down what foods you ate today, not even measuring to start just writing it down to see what you're choosing on a normal basis?

Does your doctor say you're able to get in some movement? What type of movement are you able to do? Commit to a day of getting in 5 minutes. Just 5 minutes. It can be as easy as a simple stroll around the block. Or walking in place in front of the TV during a show.

And lastly...perseverance. Perhaps the hardest. No matter what happens. Always continue forward. Always get up, dust yourself off, and take a healthy step towards your goals.

If you can do 1 small thing for one day... then you can do it for two days... and then you can do it for three days, etc, etc.

But start with ONE day. Start with today.
  • Hi, Faith. Cystitis is an inflamation of the bladder----a urine infection. Feels like you need to pee all the time, and hurts like **** when you do! Doc has given me medication, and am feeling much better---thanks! I've had it a few times this year, so now have to have tests done to be on the safe side. Anyway, Honey, how're you doing. you sticking in there? I started on Tuesday, and have not cheated so far. Thats the longest I've stuck to a diet in recent years---shame!!!!Its only 3 days, I know, but I feel more positive this time. Hope to here from you again! Bye for now. Steph . x
