****The "Life Happens" Club****

  • Hi,

I am looking for a support group that, on the way to healthier living, realizes that Life Happens.

By this I mean that although our main focus is weight loss and healthy eating, exercise and water consumption, there will be days that aren't as perfect as others. When, for one reson or another, you may need help from others to get through it without throwing in the towel.

The members of this group would applaud each other's successes, boost us when we are not at our best, and share our everyday lives.

This doesn't mean we wouldn't be serious about weight loss - we would! But as a 49 year old who has been trying to get the same 75+ pounds off for far too long, I know that there are times that when I slip, I need a helping hand back up. That is something we would do for each other.

Do you need the support of a club like this? I hope you'll join in.

  • Hi Jana, keep trying, you can do it! I have about 75 pounds to lose too so I know how hard it is. Life does happen that's for sure. I could write a book of excuses about why I should wait till tomorrow to start my diet so today I'm starting even though my house is full of my favorite junk foods and tomorrow is Monday, my favorite day to "start" my diet lol. Take care, sherriann
  • Hi Sherriann,

Way to go! Sounds like your mind is in the right place to "go for it". I am full of resolve myself, and have dusted off my WW points info. I really like that program, and so does my family, since their dinners aren't affected in any way, lol. They are very supportive of me, though.

As I already mentioned, I am pushing 50, and know it gets harder and harder to lose weight with each passing year. (Mother Nature has a warped sense of humor!) So I want to dump the plump once and for all.

Who else out there will join us? Come on in...

    Jana
  • I'd like to join. I am brand new here and think this might be the right place to be. I lost weight before on low carb, but every bit plus more came back. Now I want to do a balanced program. Jana, you said you are on ww, is that easy to do. Well, no diet is easy, but I need something I can stay with for a long time to lose a lot, over time. I like the idea of Life Happens, because while people are all fired up right now and doing so well, the reality of week after week being on a diet is hard to do. Shariann, how are you doing?

    Talk to you later.
  • Hi!

browneyesxx - Welcome! you will find that you came to the right place! 3fatchicks is a great place. Tell us about yourself...

WW points, for me, is very do-able. I usually only get into trouble when it comes to emotional issues, and that is when I tend to really overeat. I am working on that - coming up with ideas of what to do besides eat, when I am stressed. Now that the holidays are over, and DH's fam is away, my stress level has dropped considerably. But, since Life Happens, I know there are new issues to be dealt with right around the corner.

For anyone reading this: what do you do when you are tempted to stress eat?? Please share your solutions with us here. I have a notebook ready to write down my feelings, and I have a network of buddies I can call (but never do) and lots of bubble bath to help soak away any problems. What do YOU do? I want to have a plan of action before it hits. Please share your ideas.....

It is supposed to get close to 60 degrees here in the Midwest, so hopefully I can take the twins out for a walk. They are almost 7 months old now, and so cute!
