Stuck - but I think you guys helped!

  • I just came across a thread which pretty much describes where I am - STUCK!

I have finally LOVE working out - I work out pretty much 3-4 days in a row then take a day off. I work out every Saturday and Sunday, for as much as my body can handle - usually I run 2 miles. During the week, I run a mile. I spend as little as 22 minutes on a workout and as much as 45 minutes on a workout. I really don't have any more time for working out than that right now. I also do free weights about 3 times a week.

I think I eat alright, but I KNOW that I have to visit this subject...my diet! Or lackthereof. However, I eat VERY healthy and have made many GOOD changes. I just need to make more changes.

However - I am completely STUCK at my weight number. 212. WON'T Budge. Not for anything. It's driving me crazy! However - I know that I have to push through this - and I don't workout just to lose weight - it's a mental health thing for me as well.

So...do I bump up the workout when I'm able? Anyone have any "power" foods? Should I increase the amount of protein I'm eating? Help!!

Oh, I should note that since I've started working out, 7 weeks ago, I've lost a total overall of 20 inches off my body. I'm VERY proud of this! (And men are actually LOOKING at me!)
  • How long have you been stuck? (Maybe it is just water retention masking fat loss)

How many calories are you ingesting? (Are you counting calories?)

How long have you been dieting? (Maybe you need to take a diet break)

There are no specific foods that can help you. More protein may or may not be helpful. How much are you eating now?

This one is scary but one I am mentally preparing for when I hit 139 -- by next month I hope. It's definitely true that you just need to give it a rest for a little bit and maintain. But certainly continue working out as that has SO many benefits. And - OMG - 20 inches is amazing!! And I have a feeling you are probably not "stuck" as much as you seem to think. After a certain point, it's all about body composition rather than numbers on a scale.

    You are doing fantastic tho!
