How do I measure turnip properly? I would like to have mashed turnip but I want to make sure not to have too much over the allowed amount. DO I just cut it up before boiling it and put it in a measuring cup?

For my veggies, I cut up and measure the first time, then, can pretty much eyeball it after that. And, I measure before I cook. I'd say a 4-5 inch wide turnip is about 1 cup. Hope that helps. I like the turnip fries, I've never tried them mashed but I bet they are good too!
