Ezekiel Bread products

  • Have any other WWers tried these products? I've seen them mentioned by former Biggest Loser contestants and in a couple other weight-loss places. I got Rocco DiSpirito's healthy cookbook from the library yesterday and he includes some of their stuff in his recipes.

I am looking for a good, dense bread (I love grains and hate airy bread!) that is healthy and about 2 P+ for one slice and this seems to fit the bill. But looking for opinions before I buy - and suggestions on any other breads, too.
  • Ezekial is excellent and filling. Very nutritious none of that refined stuff. With the PP plan I believe 1 slice is 3 points but double check that. I love it and find find the bread in the Giant Food markets or Trader Joes. I think it is widely available
  • Yes, I eat the sprouted bread...great tasting and good for you..
  • Thanks for the input, ladies. After I posted this thread, I was at the grocery store and went ahead and bought a loaf. My local Publix sells it in the freezer section. It's a little drier than regular bread and the texture is different, but I really like it!
  • I LOVE Ezekiel bread! My favorite thing to do with it is to toast it so it is crunchy on the outside and chewy on the inside and spread it with just a little bit of cream cheese or peanut butter. It also makes really good croutons for salads or soups.
  • LitChick - Don't know where you are in Atlanta, but if you're on the north side you should check out Trader Joe's. They have Ezekiel Bread in their bread section, and IIRC it's cheaper than you would pay at Publix. They also have their own version of sprouted bread that I'm sure is cheaper (but I haven't tried it so I don't know how it compares for taste).

Thanks, Jen! I'm south of Atlanta (near Newnan) but go into Atlanta frequently and make a TJ run about once a month. I'll look for their bread next time I'm in there.

Although, I was visiting a local farm today and they are selling a local baker's bread, including loaves of Ezekiel-style! I was excited for that and will be trying it.

I'm ITP on the Westside, and I know ALL about making special TJ's trips! I love that place!
