Monday - back to work!

  • Oh back to work for me! I hope some of you girls are still on vacation!

Belle: The website is CUTE! I have to post some new pics on mine....getting lazy!

Ok, Sat. and yesterday I really really stuck to the program. I really want to get rid of that weight I gained last week!!!!
  • It's raining men
Okay that's my theme song this year

Eek, my jeans are tight! Yup too much food... doens't help when it's lying around either... oh well.

Lori: Good for you on eating well!

    Belle: Love your website

anyhoo... anyone have any non-resolutions for this year?

    Take care!

    Ali
  • Hi Lori and Ali!! I am back in the office too - but totally alone, so I can get the crap work done that I have been putting off (aka: filing...).

I am glad you liked our web site - yup, its super cheesy, but it was fun and serves its purpose (being a photo library for his family).

Lori - I won't find out the damage until tomorrow - but I am sure there is some. I was over too much. Although I did ski and did a workout video (once) I know it's not going to be pretty!! So I am with you on the holiday recovery path!!

Ali - non- resolutions?? hee hee...I try not to do that to myself on New Years. If I say "I'll make this a New Year's resolution" it gives me permission to be "bad" until New Years. Then when its broken, I feel guilty. I made my resolutions to myself all year and have worked at them. But I do have one mini-goal for myself for 2003. To get my darn immune system up!! I am taking Vitamins and trying to get 8 hours of sleep per night, which I think will make a difference.

Trouble is, I am worried. My mom is officially out of $ and the social services won't kick in until she is at 0 (I think she has like $200 left). They will only give her $400/month until she is 65, when she can get old age. THat is not for another 2.5 years. So the house is on the market. It should have been 2 months ago but my mom is a very dilusional person. she convinces herself ther eisn't a problem and that it'll go away if she ignores it. She fought us girls tooth and nail about putting it up earlier and now she is screwed. What is worse, if we give her a few hundred $ to pay her bills, we can be put in jail for fraud and her social services will be cut right off. So, we will have to pay for her until the ouse is sold. Pray that it is sold with a FEb 1 possession date!! Plus, we have to find her an apt. she only wants to be in 2 communities which are near my sisters and where she has all her friends. This is fine, except that its hard to find a main level flat that takes dogs. If we can' tfind one then b/f and I must take them dogs. But our apt doesn't take dogs so we'd have to move. I love our apt. I don't want to move to another apt though - if I move, I'd like to buy a condo on the river down here. B/f and I have been seriously considerng what we can afford and what is a good investment.

This leads to the exciting stuff! We have been looking at Condos! Yesterday we drove around to open houses and found one we loved~ But it was a one bedroom - too small. But right on the river - great view, big balcondy and its brand new - hardwood right through it - and it takes dogs (little ones). But just too small. We did find a real estate agent we liked though and he's taking us to look at a couple places on the weekend (in the midst of showing our present home...yikes).

I am happy to say though, that b/f is being awesome about the whole family thing AND he is talking long term about the condo (for a commitment issue guy, BIG STEP). We were talking about keeping this place for 3 or 4 years then moving to a house when we are ready for children. WE could sell it or rent it out after depending on our financial situation.

Well, should get to work - lots to do today...SIGH! Have a good OP day girls (whoever is out there!!).

  • Howdy!
Hello, Belle and Lori!! I'm just stopping in over my lunch break to say hello. I hope everyone had a nice Christmas, I know I did. I took the 26 and 27 off, so I had a nice, long 6 day weekend. Needless to say, I was not happy about coming into work today.

Things WW-wise have not been going well for me. I started letting it go after Thanksgiving and according to the scale, have gained 10 lbs. Ick. At least I'm getting all this eating out of my system and I know that I'll feel much better when I start back on WW. An added bonus is that a friend from work is going to start going with me, so maybe we can keep each other on track.

I have very sad news, too. I had to put one of my guinea pigs to sleep yesterday. It was tough, but I know it was the right thing to do. I miss her, but she was sick and I know she's probably happier now.

I'm going to see Aaron tonight (yeah, as in Aaron my ex). I don't think we have any plans to get back together, but I am looking forward to spending the evening with him.

That's about all going on here...

I do have some New Year's resolutions:

    1) Reach my WW goal, hopefully during the first 6 months of the year (which shouldn't be hard, I'm not that far from it).

    2) Quit smoking. (Also not too hard, since I rarely smoke. I just don't want it to become a habit so I figured I should nip it in the bud).

Not really resolutions, just things I need to get around to doing anyway.

Belle--wow, it sounds like you have a lot going on. That is so exciting that you and BF are looking at places together! That is a pretty big step for a commitment-phobe. Congrats!!

Ali--Yeah, I'm having the same problem, only it isn't just my jeans that are tight. I put on my slacks for work this morning and was like "I know these shrunk". Not sure why I'm denying my weight gain when I'm not too upset over it.

Lori--Way to go staying OP! I'm sure that you'll be down! Maybe you could send some of your motivation this way. (I type that as I'm eating a cookie).

I'll stop back in later, maybe!
  • Just popping in to say hi. I was at work today, but out of the office much of the day. I hope everyone had a great holiday! New Year's Eve tomorrow .. yay ... anyone have any fun plans? DH and I are driving to North Carolina to go to a comedy club with friends. Should be fun, except we have to board the dogs for a night. They're fine at the kennel, but I'll miss them! Our friends have two dogs also, and we've tried to get them all together, but four dogs in one house is a lot.

Well, I'm out of here. Heading to Target to find a new outfit for my job interview on Friday!
  • Hi everyone!
Just wanted to wish everyone a belated Merry Christmas (and Happy Holidays) and a Happy New Year!

Belle - I'm going to go check out your website now! I'm excited to see it.

Talk to you all tomorrow - I know everyone is gone for today!
  • Belle - sorry to hear about your mom...I hope things get better. Good thing about BF and the condo tho!

    Hmm New Years resolutions...

    1) to get rid of that "problem" i have (you know what i'm talking about)

    2) get back OP...journal every day...meet my personal goal of 140 lbs

    3) read for at least 1 hour each day (i am starting that one early...started last week)

Jess: Isn't the EX the really bad guy who said horrible things to you? You are looking forward to hanging out with him? Maybe I missed something? *confused*

Ok, I'll check in again tomorrow....good night guys!
