  • Good cold snowie morning to you. it is now 5:20 am. I am ready for work with my second cup of coffee. And ready to get back on program. I have not figured out how the bells and whistles on this key board work, but I still can type sooooooooo.

    Has any one read the article in Jan. prevention on "the Atkins Diet"? New information, remember to drink your water, for your kidneys.

    Well everything is so slow on my site that I am going to go clean up some cookies.
    Please have another great day, I am kind of looking forward to getting back on schedule.

    Oh yea, all of Christmas 2002, is put away, yesterday.

    I will honor Christmas in my heart
    and try to keep it all year.

  • Morning Tazcat and all those to come!!

    Got home from work yesterday and DN(dear Nanny) has the whole house cleaned up...toys put away, crumbs cleaned up, YEA!

    Gotta go get ready for work, I have no motivation I was sleeping so good!!! Forgto to set the coffee pot so it was not ready when I got out of the shower!! Hate when that happens.....

    Nothing planned today but work, and not much going on there!!!

    Have a good one whatever you do!!!!
  • T.G.I.F. !!
    Good early morning ! Coffee anyone? It's nice and hot!

    Taz ~ How in the world could you get Christmas mess and "stuff" put away already? We haven't even put all the gifts away yet! sigh Wish I was that organized! lol

    Scooby ~ I love waking up to the smell of fresh coffee! Can I borrow your nanny? One day should do it!

    Flylady stuff vs Mt Laundry today for me! DH is out of the undies that fit and looking a little "blue" in the face from the smaller size! Guess it's time to find the washer!

    need more coffee - brb
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Our family get together went well last night. The boys returned from the deer lease earlier in the afternoon and they opened their gifts. They seemed pleased with everything. Dinner with DS, stepson/wife/GD and her dad was nice. I love watching them all together. But it sure wasn't the same without Melissa and the GB's here. I miss them everyday but especially so now.
    Oh, word of warning ~~ don't ever buy a
    Gourmet Turtle NY Style Cheesecake ~~ it is wonderful!!! And I'm not a big sweet eater!
    Hope you all have a wonderful Friday!
  • Good morning Chickies,
    Leens: Thoughts are with you and your family today, I hope all is going well.
    Good Christmas get together in the boon docks of New Hampshire. little man had a good 6th birthday and we all met my brother's fiance's parents from Bulgaria. The wedding is in May in Colorodo. Should be fun!
    Cold today, but we got the snow off the driveway late yesterday after returning home. DH has the coffee on and I think. With a little luck I have a contractor coming today to finally fix my shower that has not worked from last spring. We worked it out that the first contractor would pay the second contractor and no money would pass through our hands. But?
    Off to shower and get dressed. DH is home today so I think I might go see a movie and check out the sales.
    Be well ladies and here is hoping we all can have an OP day!
  • Good Morning, Chickies.
    Rachel, that Nanny must be worth her weight in gold! Try to keep her even after the kids are grown up.
    Taz, I bet you folks are well snowed. We just got a smallish amount here. I did see the Atkins article in Prevention and was going to post it but their website was still December's issue at the time. I guess LC has really made it when Prevention approves!
    Mamaj, ROFLOLPIMP over the thought of your man in tight underwear. Better get at Mount Laundry before he passes out!
    L144S, NH must have been great and the May wedding will be a blast. I hope your bathroom issue gets resolved fast with no $$.
    Our power went out last night so we went to bed by candlelight.
    How romantic! However, today we buy new batteries for the big flashlights! The timers will all need to be reset - the "tree" in the meadow is still blazing away. (We have a pergola at the well and it looks like a tree with lights draped around it.)
    Hey, you tree taker downers! Christmas lasts until January 6th! Of couse, if you put your tree up December 1st, you must be sick of it by now. (Actually we may take ours down right after NY - don't tell anyone.)
    We are really loafing around this week and I love it. Simple meals are in order after the holiday extravaganza - stir fry shrimp and veggies last night. I won't say that I was completely OP over the holiday but darn close. This is the first Christmas my weight has not gone up the usual 6-8 pounds. I am doing the happy dance.
    Tonight we are going to friend Claire's place for dinner. She and her husband are the greatest people! I keep looking for a flaw but the only thing I can find is that she smokes - outside the house! Her husband is a real gentleman - he and Harry are good friends and I'm hoping some of it rubs off!
    Harry and Lucy are waiting for me to make western omelets for breakfast so I'd better go make like a Mommy. He did make the coffee while Lucy and I cuddled on the bed so I owe him.
    I hope everyone has a good day and that the Christmas candle keeps burning brightly for you.
  • Good Morning Ladies
    Sounds like everyone had a nice christmas. Ours was busy busy busy!!! Christmas eve, hubby's grandson got a little too rambuncious chasing his uncle around, and did a forehead dive into the rocking chair. So, it was off to the emergency room for 8 stitches, and worrying wether or not santa was going to come because he was up so late!
    Did breakfast here at the house with all his family, the piled into the car and headed 2 hrs north for supper with my family. We got home yesterday, with huge carb/wine hangovers. A great time was had by all!!!
    Mom and Dad had gone out and bought some very nice sweaters for me for christmas.....but after my last visit, they had to take them all back, because they were a 1x, and mom didnt know I had lost so much weight. They took them back and the "L" fit perfect
    Back op today...Im not getting near the scale until the first of the year sometime. I ate alot of Lindt chocolate the last few days, and I can honestly say, I didnt miss it. And the ravioli I had been wanting for months, I had some last night, and it didnt taste nearly as good as I remembered!! I ended up snacking on bacon last night instead of anything else.
    Well, Im off to start the coffee and get supper in the crock pot. I hope everyone has a great day.
  • Happy Friday! I didn't make it back yesterday, I went shopping instead. I actually bought myself a new pair of jean - SIZE 14!!
    I thought for sure I'd be a 16. I'm quite happy! I also bought myself a digital pedometer. I'm going to try to increase the number of steps I walk in a day.
    Comments/Responses from yesterday's posts:
    Leen - Thought and prayers are with you and your family.
    Scooby - I live in Pensacola.
    Taz - I meant to say an MP3 player. It's a device (hard drive like is on your computer) that stores music files. It's about the size of a small walkman, this one stores a ton of songs without having to keep changing CDs or tapes. It also stores pictures and videos. Let me see if I can find a link.
    Here: http://www.archos.com
    The big picture is what I'm talking about.
  • Morning! Well, it is almost afternoon. We ALL slept late and I want to go back to bed. Cody and I need haircuts, so I might as well get in the shower and start moving.
    Today I am going to have as perfect a day as I can with my eating plan. I am not going to say PERFECT because I have been far from it all week, and I need to ease back in. The rest of the weekend will be near perfect, and Monday the whip starts cracking. I heard the new SugarBusters book is out in some places (wasn't supposed to be released till Jan) so I am going to go looking for that today, also.
    Dyan, your mp3 player sounds great. Cody, Rob and I all wanted them back in the spring for a road trip, but couldn't buy three of them, so we bought Memorex walkman's, which also play mp3 files. We made 150-200 song cd's and played them on our matching 50 dollar players. You've got an awesome player, I'd love one! Mine works fine, but it still skips like any cd walkman.
    Ruth, congrats on not gaining all that weight! I was reading CNN and their resident doctor, Dr Gupta, says that actually people only gain an average of 1 pound through the holidays. I couldn't beleive that! I wonder if more people knew that, if they would eat less at holiday time. If we thought 5 pounds was the average, would we have a 'license' to eat more?
    Ok, it is either off to the shower or off to the bed. I have to do one or the other!
  • We have snow this morning, just a little dusting of it, with hopes of more to come, but weather man is calling for rain this afternoon!!
    Sorry to dash but gotta get little guy bundled up and out to play in it before it melts!!
  • Well, I congratulate anybody who manages to maintain or only gain a little over the holidays...and for those who actually LOSE....well, I'm speechless and in total AWE!!! Actually, I'm not even going to get on the scale until Jan. 14. I'm going to do the low carb/low cal/lots of water thing plus unsweetened cranberry juice to flush out all the baddies for the first two weeks. I'm just so bloated and puffy and just plain YUCK! It will be a relief to get rid of all the sweets in this house.
    Love to all of you.
