I'm hoping changing my goal will change my attitude too

  • I’m changing my goal weight from 139 to 132. I haven’t worked this hard to get down to 139 and still be in an overweight BMI category. I know that BMI charts are only general guidelines and I’ll get a more accurate BMI test from my doctor when I hit 139. But the thing is too is I feel as if I am getting too complacent. When my ticker hit “9 lbs to go” I started becoming lax. At least mentally. My binge cravings have increased lately too. Last night I made a bowl of popcorn and drenched it in salt and butter. I took it to my bedroom and as I stuffed a handful of it into my mouth I caught a glimpse of myself in my mirror across the room. I was disgusted with myself and threw out the popcorn before I was able to justify eating more. I'm actually very proud of myself for that because 6 months ago I wouldn't have cared.

I will be very happy getting to 139 – which is 1 pound less than my younger sister (haha) – but I just want to be NORMAL.
  • Good for you! It's awesome that you've gotten so close to your goal that it's time to set a new one.

I try to set small goals...but this time i want lasting change. So while my immediate goal is to stick to my plan until May 1, i want to remain binge-free until July 4 or longer. With an occasional cheat day which will not be a binge but a larger quantity of food. Because it would be pointless to diet until May 1and then go back to my old habits.
