Hello everyone this Valentines evening,
Tonight was my meeting and I am happy to report that I lost 1#. I have really been trying the past 2 days to pull it back together. I'm still a little over goal but I will get back to it next week.
My hubby and I don't celebrate this day either. There is so much commercialism in the holidays now-a-days that I have a hard time with the money aspect of them. The true meanings of them have gotten so blown out of proportion. I did make him a sweet however by making some real fudgy brownies that he loves.
Donna,
An additional note in regards to the goal slip...the reason you would need one would be if you want to become a KOPS (Keeping Off Pounds Sensibly). TOPS doesn't use a height/weight chart to figure ones goal weight. A persons medical advisor is the best one to judge what an individual should weigh since all of us have unique circumstances in our lives. It is not mandatory to be a 'KOPS' but when you reach your goal weight it is nice to be recognized as a KOPS with a graduation ceremony and a diploma. (because I am a KOPS, our chapter does not require me to pay monthly dues....a nice little 'perk' saving me an additional $36 a year). The goal slip would be needed to get registered at TOPS headquarters. However, if you don't care about the KOPS awards that are available than yes, you may join and not worry about a goal slip. We have a member that has been a KOPS so many times and has lost status just as often. She found it stressful to keep registering and now she doesn't care about the status. She keeps coming so that she can keep monitoring her weight and that is fine. Don't let the lack of a goal slip hold you back from proceeding with your weight loss journey. You are too important!!!!
Sherri, glad you feel good with your new 'do' and I hope you had a nice healthy meal tonight to keep you on track. It sounds romantic with all the roses in the past...but at least he finely married you and that is more important.
Eleni, Hope you don't shed too many tears tomorrow, but do watch the cake intake. Think of your future, and a healthier you!!!
Marie, Hope your weigh in tomorrow goes well. Keep hanging in and thanks for the kind words.
Tami,
I agree there's to much pressure and expectations from the holidays. Sounds like you found a wise way to handle this one.
Look forward to seeing you on tomorrows thread. take care all.
