Hi all, I'm Mel, 28 from NY. Been heavy all my life. Family is semi overweight; I unfortunately am the biggest one. I've always been happy with myself, played softball and bowled in HS and college even at my size (was 275 then). Now I am a few years away from 30 and at my heaviest. I decided I am going to try and make a change in myself. The long term goal is to lose 150 pounds by summer 2012. Although I am still a strong and confidant woman, I am starting to feel the effects of my weight. My joints and back hurt constantly and am worried about the possible diseases I may get. My best friend asked me to be the maid of honor at her wedding in July so my short term goal is to lose 50 pounds by then. I started my 1200 calorie and 5 day a week exercise regime on March 1st and at today’s date have lost 22 pounds so far.
