Crying!

  • Ever since I started "dieting" and restricting all bad foods from my diet...I find myself crying ALL the time. WHat is up with that??
  • I'm not sure but maybe it's a transition thing? How long have you noticed it?
  • I cried all of the time throughout my weight-loss. I felt deprived of the things I wanted-- food was such a huge factor in my life. Whenever I felt a strong emotion, whether happy or sad, food was my reward/comfort. As silly as it sounds to some people, changing my eating habits meant changing with my coping strategies-- I no longer knew how to deal with emotions in other ways. I ended up crying a lot just to get the frustration out. It will get better though. As soon as you see those pounds and inches slide off, you will feel a change in yourself. Sort of like that saying that things have to get worse before they can get better-- it will happen.

    Best of luck to you.
  • Wow K16 you hit the nail on the head...That is EXACTLY how I feel... Good to know that it will subside...
  • Maybe it's like a feeling of grieving.
  • There is so much grieving and mourning in weight loss. I remember one time a few months ago I thought about lasagna and I started bawling, shaking, the kind of crying you do when you're 14 and find out the boy you like doesn't like you. It was pretty illogical considering I am not on any restricted diet plan, but it was definitely pent-up from constantly thinking about weight and getting stressed out about it.
