Hi everyone!

  • New to this forum, although not to weight loss. I started making an effort again and wanted to join you all to share triumphs and disappointments with people who know what it's like.

As I said, I'm not new to weight loss. My weight's been a rollercoaster most of my adult life (I'm 39), and my usual pattern is to lose about 30 lbs and then gain 40 or 50. I know how to lose weight -- eat less, move more. I also like to focus on more natural, less processed foods. What I don't know is how to keep my self in the motivated mindset that allows me to do what I need to do. Every few years it hits me, and for a few months its easy to eat well and exercise often. Then it fades.

I'm only a couple weeks into this current loss, and I'm of course worried that my motivation will go the way of all my other attempts. My schedule has changed and I'm also finding it harder to find the time to exercise than I used to, which worries me.

In any case, I'm here now, I'm trying now, and that's what I'm focusing on. Looking forward to meeting all of you.
  • First off, welcome to the board & congrats on being a loser .. You've come to the right place for support, positivity, motivation & comfort.. I hope you stick around..
  • Hi Zoodoo. I just discovered this forum a couple days ago myself.
Finding time to excercise is often a problem for busy people. One thing you might try is to schedule your excercise and look at it as an appointment which you can't miss. If you're a morning person it is helpful too as not too many of us are busy very early, I'm no longer working but when I was I got up about an hour and a half earlier than I had to so I could make it to the gym. Best of luck to you.
  • Thanks! I know that it theoretically can be done, I just can't figure out how right now. I've been getting a few walks in here and there and I'm hoping that I can build on that.
