Finally got a permanent profile=one step closer to reenlisting

  • I finally got my permanent profile for my degenerative disc disease! The army can no longer require me to run on it or do sit ups. I'm home free to pass the APFT without hurting myself anymore! Now just to lose the weight, but that comes with time. Anyway you look at it though, I shouldn't have an issue with reenlisting and I can finally be promoted!!

Still working on twenty million homework projects, my wedding dress, two dresses for my pseudo bridesmaids (since we're only having a reception and just getting married by the JP I don't actually have bridesmaids lol) and trying to look into grad school and look for a house.

I'm looking forward to my Yoga my time tonight. And Zoey's telling me I need to take her for a walk today. Weighed in this morning at 206...that number really needs to go back down, and soon....

Anyways, how's everyone doing on this lovely Tuesday?
  • Oy! Grats! Didn't know you could still be in the Army if you couldn't run or do sit-ups, heh. I'm DEP'd in right now for the Navy, trying to get all buff for October. As you can see, my SW was above the max weight for my height, heh. Just in the past couple weeks I've pared it down. Now to get to 1.5 miles under 14 minutes :x

I look forward to hearing about your progress!
  • WTG! thats great! Glad its going well for you. The number will go down soon!
  • I've been in for almost six year now-I used to be able to run with little problem; heck, I used to run cross country because it was fun! It's only recently that my condition has been causing so much pain that I just can't run on it or do sit ups. So technically I can run...just not without intense pain. As long as I can still do my job, I'll be excused from the APFT run and sit ups and will just have to do an alternate aerobic event-in my case the 2.5 mile walk. As you can see with my weight, I'm way over my max-so I'll still be flagged for that, but all I have to do is show I'm losing 5-8 lbs a month and I shouldn't have an issue with re-uping in July. I won't be on Prednisone to deal with the pain of trying to train for the run, so that should help, and the rest is just finding activities I enjoy as much as I had enjoyed running...and work on the urge to hit people who can still run...(hee...envy issues? lol)

nightwasp Have fun with the Navy =) I would give you crap, but with as much as I've received for going guard, I just don't have it in my to torment you--anyone who has the will and ability to join any branch of the military is good in my book.
  • WOW! That's amazing, like moving a mtn eh? I work for the Army so I feel your pain!

Girl you've got a lot goin' on!!
  • Yeah, only took me three years! Lol

My fiance said I won't survive without stess in my life! I love it though, it keeps me busy.
  • Ah understood! Good luck!

Can't go nuke in any other branch :P
