Hi. I will admit that until recently I was not an emotional eater. I had previously turned to exercise to release my stress. Recently however, I have developed into an emotional eater while concurrently letting go of exercise. It's weird b/c when I eat (usually triggered by stress, feeling down and/or alone), temporarily I feel a sense of release but quickly afterwards (the two minutes that it takes me to woof down the food),the guilt feelings set in. I am slowly starting to get my act in order again and turn to exercise but having gained the weight from becoming an emotional eater, it has been a struggle....one day at a time.
