Hi All,
I've been lurking around for a little while and finally decided to join in. My name is Sandy, I'm soon to be 44, and I've been dealing with my weight since middle school. My highest was 327. At the time I was living on Mt. Dew, fast food, and cigarettes. Over the past several years I completely changed my eating habits, never touch soda, and I haven't had a cigarette in 17 years. My current weight is somewhere in the 270s, I've been tracking by my BMI instead of weight. 3 years ago I got down to 248 from 310, then went back up to 291.
I (re)started the weight loss journey on 1/29 and have lost somewhere in the neighborhood of 20 pounds so far. Over the 3 years that I spent letting the weight I'd worked so hard to lose creep back on, I tried to figure out what it is about being a healthy weight that is so frightening that I let it defeat me every time I start to feel like I've finally got it conquered. We'll see what happens this time...
It's just past 11pm right now and after a fun evening at the movies (no snacks, still fun) I'm off to do my exercise.
Glad to be here!

, and wow, congrats on your success so far. I'm so glad that you stopped lurking and started posting!
