I started taking birth control again a few weeks ago ( I haven't taken it in years) and for the past week I've randomly bled 3 times...
has this happened to anyone else? is it normal?
I'm not trying to stress myself out and its saturday so calling my doctor isn't an option
I think spotting any time you mess around with your hormones is normal. Obviously ask your doctor, but I wouldn't stress about it. Even me starting to run everyday has caused changes/spotting.

I was told that was breakthrough bleeding and it takes 2-3 packs of pills for your body to fully adjust to the hormones. You can always call your doc's nurse and ask them. I think you're gonna get the same answer but they might want to ask you some follow-up questions like "How are you feeling? Any cramping?" for your chart.
Yah.. i agree with everyone else..when i started my pills awhile back, i ended up having like a period each week for almost a month..then it evened out to just 1 a month from then on..its like my body needed time to get used to it and adjusted to the hormone level..and it varies on the pill your taking too..some are worse than others.
Ditto to what everyone else said, especially if you're on a low-dose pill. I take Loestrin 24 (which I think might be a generic form of Yaz...?) and I know I had breakthrough bleeding for the first 4 cycles. It was annoying, but apparently normal according to my doc. Things worked themselves out by about 6 months, and now I have lighter, shorter periods without any of the symptoms that used to plague me (cramps, UGH). Still talk to your doc, though - there are a lot of different options out there.
I agree it might just be because it is new, but also I have this problem if I don't take my pills at the same time. If I'm off by an hour, I notice bleeding the next day.
Spotting is normal the first 3 months you are on the pill. Also, if you're in the middle of your pack and you forget to take a pill you can spot then, too. Happens to me all the time...
It is totally normal. Your body is just trying to make sense of the artificial hormones, it should level out in a couple of months.
I had that happened when I was taking Tri-Cyclen, I talk to my doctor and she put me on a different pill Cyclen and I never had a period more then once a month. Maybe switch your pills. I don't take BC anymore, I probably should but i'll weight until I get to my goal weight that way if it makes me gain weight it won't be so bad haha.
I'm with everybody else. It can take a few cycles for your body to get used to the new hormones. I just got back on birth control and I had spotting this month. Unless you're excessively bleeding (more than you normally bleed on your period) I wouldn't be concerned.
Yup. Spotting between periods is normal on the pill, especially when you first start taking it.
