I'm thinking about buying a Diva Cup (a.k.a. menstral cup) because I hear that it's not messy and does a great job with avoiding leaks/spotting. I've been reading users' comments about it. It seems like a majority of women like using the cup over tampons and pads.

My flow has changed since I've entered my 30s and I've ruined many panties because of it. It's like I'm a young teenager girl again with an irregular flow. I'm thinking about buying the cup. Has anyone tried it? If so, then what are you thougths about the product?

I have heard of it but never used one because it didn't seem like it was for me. Sorry, I'm not much of help.

I know this isn't exactly what you're asking but have you considered BCP, assuming if you are open to that option? That is what I did to help reduce the flow because my periods were so heavy and bad to ruin some of my clothes as well as underwear, ugh. Anyway, just a suggestion.

I have used the cup in the past but I don't any longer. The issue I had is constantly thinking everything was just going to spill out because it was hard to get a feel for when to change it. It will leak a bit if it's past it's removal time just like a tampon or pad would.

I'm a diva cup gal, too. Been using it for a couple years now and can't imagine going back to the other stuff!

On the runner's forum I frequent, the ladies LOVE it there. I'd like to get one myself. I haven't found where to get them, do you know?

I'll throw this out there...

I used to use Always pads and then after having my kid since I was sewing her diapers, I sewed me up some cloth pads and even tried out some cloth Lunapads. I also managed to find brands like Natracare for an all cotton/organic/no plastics disposable pad.

And my flow changed! It was lighter. I'd read that this happens to some people who change to something more "natural" than a plasticky pad. The cup experiences also read like this but I haven't tried the cup myself. There's also the Keeper model.

So... just a thought.

I love my Diva cup. I also use cloth pads as a 'back up' because I still have some heavy flow days. Rarely do I leak with the Diva cup but I'm paranoid. It is environmentally friendly and I like it much more than tampons.

How different is the cup from those disposable cups from a few years ago. Heck, what was their name? With those, I leaked and the way they leaked, it was a mess a couple times. I figured it was because I was overweight that it didn't fit over my cervix right or something.

I might give it a try.

I don't know about those disposable cups but the Diva cup is pretty easy to put in. As long as it opens all the way, you are good to go. I also don't think it needs to be as high as those disposable cups.

I used to bleed through heavy tampons in an hour but at my worst with the Diva cup, it holds for 2-3 hours and on non-heavy days, 8 hours is good.

I own a Keeper and a Diva cup and do not use them.
I always had leaks and still had to wear a pad, so I quit using them.
They are sometimes messy to empty/clean.
There used to be a forum that I was on that was totally devoted to the Keeper. Lots of good advice on there if you have a problem. I just couldn't get it to work for me.

I tried those disposable cups too--Instead. They worked ok, but I had a major leak with them once and quit that also.

Okay, I have to give this a try now. I've been reading reviews all morning, and there are several different kinds, all different reviews. I'm a little intimidated...

I LOVE my Diva Cup! I will never ever ever go back to tampons! It took a couple tries to get used to it but now it's pretty much just as easy as using tampons for me, and it is way more comfortable. I have had no leakage problems, except for the very beginning when I was still getting the hang of how to properly insert it, even with intense exercise (jumping, step aerobics, etc). I love that I can put it in in the morning and then not even think about it till the evening, and no worrying about leaking at night or getting up to check.
