I did a very very dumb thing Thursday..

  • ... I got my tongue pierced lol Let me tell you how hard it is to stay on SB when you can't eat solids

So far I think I've done okay.. I'm definitely eating WAY more Phase 2 carbs than technically I should, but it could be way worse. I'm still doing no processed sugar, but I have been doing strawberry smoothies (made with almond milk and splenda), and lots of vegetable broth.. I tried a mashed sweet potato and a little rice but I think I'll wait on those a while before doing it again

I'm still trying to decide if I need to go back on Phase 1 once it heals.. Honestly I feel fine so far as "cravings", and I've lost three pounds (expected), so I might be able to just cut back to Phase 1.5 once I can eat real food again..

Anyone have any ideas of Beachy Phase 2 foods I can eat until this heals? Remember I can't have dairy, soy, or peanuts, though I CAN do almond milk (just nothing like pudding or ricotta or cream soups)

  • What about purreed bean or lentil soups? This hummusy soup sounds tasty, if you can have garbanzo beans that is.

  • Unfortunately no beans.. apparently my soy/peanut problem is actually a "legume" issue (which makes me sad because when my tongue's not sore, I adore refried beans)
  • I have to ask . . . why a tongue piercing?

    Hope it heals fast!
  • I've wanted one for a loooooong time and my bestie was going to get her nipples done so I figured why not get my tongue and nose done while we were there?

I love the way it looks but can't wait till it's healed I was able to eat okay today.. Had a grilled tuna steak, rice pilaf, and some cauliflower "mashed potatoes". And some NSA apple sauce.. For dinner I broke up some spaghetti really small and ate it with "garlic butter" and it was much easier to eat than I'd expected.
  • wow..that took courage to get your tounge periced cause man oh man.. ive often wanted to do it, but freaking out about how much the pain would kill me..
  • The piercing itself doesn't hurt. It's the week after that does :P
  • i still cant imagine a needle in the tounge..its hard enough to get me to get a filling cause of the needle they have to use for the freezing..
