Help please! Need motivation and encouragement!

  • Hi all!

Happy New Year! I joined MRC last August and was doing OK with it. Then in
September I had emergency gallbladder surgery. Then in November I had to have a cataract removed from each eye, had complications but in the end it will be good. Also moved during this time. Anyway, are you allowed to buy the supplements at MRC if you aren't actually signed up for a program? I have
all the information because I was doing it previously. The medical expenses are going to make it hard for me to sign up offiially, but will do so if that's the only option. I just know that the enhancer and a few other supplements really seemed to helpl

Feeling a bit frustrated because I couldn't exercise during this time of medical challenges and eating properly was difficult as well. I am sad to say that I gained back about 23 pounds from mid-Sept. until today, when I finally got the nerve to step on the scale.

If any of you have ideas on how to get remotivated I would love to hear them. I really want to know if you can buy the MRC supplements even if you aren't currently paying for a program.

    Thanks!
  • I'm right there with you, Debster. I joined in May of last year and was doing great and then I got influenza and then when I recovered from that I also had gallbladder surgery. I've had a hard time regaining motivation and getting my head back in that place that I was willing to make the effort. I haven't weighed in since the beginning of December and I've gained 13 pounds. I'm going back to my center tomorrow to rejoin.

I'm not sure about whether or not you can buy the products if you're not paying for the program, but just wanted to tell you to keep your head up. It will come! You can do it!!
  • To both Debster and Joanie -
We've all been there, done that, got a t-shirt. Try not to be too down on yourself. Today is a new day! The beautiful thing about losing weight is that you can always start fresh. Try not to think too much about what has happened (losses and gains) or what will happen, but try to focus on today and what you have to do to get yourself moving again. My favorite quote is, "You don't drown by falling in the water, you drown by staying there. Get back up and finish what you started."

Good luck and get back on the wagon!
  • I think the most motivating thing for me is seeing the scale go down each and every day.

We all can do it - good luck & get to it

I don't think they'll let you buy the supplements if you aren't currently paying for the program, but call your center and find out. I just remember my consultant saying something about that when I originally signed up, as though to make me feel like I was part of an elite club or something.

If you joined in August and then had so many health complications, did you put your program "on hold" with the center? My sister joined last spring and then had surgery about two months into program, so she put her program "on hold" so she wouldn't lose the weeks she had paid for. They just took her off "hold" when she recovered and was cleared to do the program again.

If nothing else, go in and talk to someone at your nearest center. Given all you've been through, they might be willing to lower the price for you to re-enroll, as they make most of their money off of selling supplements, not enrollments, after all.
