  • Hi gang! Today I find out whether or not I got the job! I'm so excited and nervous. May the Lord shower his blessings on all of us!
  • Good luck, Okie! I can't wait to hear that you got the job! Certainly, they'd be out of their minds not to choose you!

It's the start of another week. I am following the Extreme Fat Smash meal plans this week, using Beachy foods. I felt like I needed some guidance for meal planning this week. I have used these meal plans before and I they're pretty varied and calorie-controlled so I'm looking forward to a good, solid week. On Saturday I discovered I fit into my jeans again and now I'm super excited to lose the last five pounds to get to where I was before I got pregnant. After that I'll tackle the next batch to my real goal.

The girls are finishing their homeschool lessons and then I'll take them to Kindy and get my cleaning done (dusting and vacuuming the third floor) and then I have to finish my book club book because we have book club tonight.

    Have a great Monday, all!
  • Good morning!

    Good luck Okie!

Kara, you're doing such a great job! Good luck this week.

Today is our 100th day of school. We've got a parade and all sorts of exciting projects planned for the day - I just might be as excited as the kids are.

    Enjoy your Monday!
  • Good Morning

Thanks for getting us started, Okie. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you, too!

Kara! Great that you have your food all planned for the week!

Heidi, have fun with all the festivities today!

I've been up for awhile but just don't have much motivation yet. I did get the major chore done, which was getting Rudi out in the freezing cold. It's blowing like crazy. That done, I'm going back to bed for awhile. I might finish the dining room table before I head upstairs....

See ya'll later. Have a beachy day, everyone!
  • Good morning. Haven't checked the temperature but poor wee Jazz goes for a fur-cut this morning so I'm hoping it's not too cold. He has some bad mats so I'm expecting a really short haircut. He is so cute with his black dandelion puff but ...

Bella, I do hope you hear about that job today and that the news is good. If not, there are other fish in the sea. By the way, I added the day of the week to the thread title - some of us need that!

Kara, Fat Smash? Hmmm - I think I have that book somewhere in my collection. What book are you reading at your Book Club? We are doing "Reading Lolita in Tehran" which is a struggle. Next choice "Harry Potter"! I think I'll just watch the movie.

Debbie, it's so hard for the doggage as they get older. Regards to Rudi. My diningroom table could use some "finishing" too. Where does all this stuff come from?

My back is still quite sore so I will do an easier routine at gym this morning. After I drop Jazz off at the groomer, I'll be spending five hours with the quilting biddies. I'm their new treasurer and now need to be there for their business part of the gab-fest. They are nice ladies but sure go on and on with chatter/gossip. There are two other women who, like me, want to just get the quilts done. We exchange a lot of glances!

Grapefruit sounds good for breakfast this morning so I'll just do it while I have the inclination. Hope your day is happy and productive.
  • Good luck Okie! Please keep us posted.

It's going to be warm here today - 45 - and was warm yesterday so a lot of the snow melted which is so nice. It will get colder again tomorrow, but these two warm days just make a difference, you know? Had odd dreams again last night - you might be right about the moon, Karen.

Hope everyone has a great day!
  • Good morning, Matilda. We had a bit of a melt yesterday too but got another dump last night. The lad who ploughs my lane will be happy - and rich by the time this winter ends.
  • Happy Monday...Hope everyone has a great new week!
  • Good morning! Monday calls for an extra-large coffee.

Okie, I'm sending good vibes your way and keeping my fingers crossed on that job for you! Think positive!

Kara, kudos for getting back into those jeans, I know that's a good feeling! What book are you reading for your club?

Heidi, it sounds like a fun day ahead for you! Carley's school is celebrating their 100 Days today, too, and she decided to take 100 sprinkles in one of those flower watering tubes. Maggie had hers last week, and drew an outline of a horse on a large poster board, then cut out 100 pictures of horse related objects to paste inside the outline. I love all the creative ideas that kids come up with to celebrate their 100 days.

Debbie, your weather sounds nasty this morning and I bet poor Rudi didn't enjoy having to go to his business out there at all. It sounds like a good day to huddle under the covers!

There's no piles of snow or ice to deal with this morning, and we may actually climb up to 40*. I wonder what awaits me at the farm today? They had guests staying with them all weekend, so I can just imagine what the playroom looks like, lol! Oh, well, at least it will keep me busy.
  • Good morning early birds! I woke at 4AM and my mind started racing, so I just got up and worked for a while. Now I'm enjoying the quiet last minutes before i get the kids up and the day begins. I cooked yesterday, now I'm armed with taco bake, deviled eggs, and bean soup to get me through the week. Will be a busy beginning to the week, but I've got comp time and hope to take a day or half day off later in the week - maybe do some shopping and find a friend to go to lunch.

    Fingers crossed for you Okie!
    Keep on keeping on, Kara.
    Heidi, have a fun 100-day!
Oh no, Ruth, quilting treasurer? busy bees. By the way, you should read the book, it's really good.
    Good morning, Matilda!
    Enjoy your morning nap, Debbie.

Wow, personals are easy when I get in here early!
  • Good morning This morning started with a bunch of work emails to get out as soon as I was able to make sense (hm, I do hope I reached that threshold first!). Now I'm taking a breath before launching into what promises to be a crazy week. Luckily mine is only 4 days because I'm off to NY for the 50th anniversary dinner.

Okie - I hope the news is good. Interviews are always good practice no matter the outcome.

Kara - Wow, great progress as usual

    Heidi - Happy 100th!

Debbie - back to sleep sounds just right. neck scritches to Rudi and Bing.

Ruth - Sounds like a good day for a heating pad on the back. I hope this treasurer gig is less stressful than some of the others.

Mathilda - It's nice of the snow to melt so you have room for the next batch Now that you mention it I think I had weird dreams too. Hmm

    Lisa

Linda - I was thinking it might be a two pot day around here. I love the 100 day ideas. At my former job I was the queen of celebrations - any excuse would do. I think it helps keep everyone's spirits up, especially in winter. I could use one now myself.

Schmoodle - I was doing the same thing at 1 AM but finally got back to sleep. Too bad I can't bill for the extra hours.

Okay, now I need to get back to work. Hope your Monday breezes by without a hitch (or a snow storm!)
  • Heidi, I can't help but wonder when the 100th day was *supposed* to be! Probably December, the way this winter's been going! Hope you have a fun celebration!

Debbie, hope your snuggles are warm when you get back to bed!

Ruth, we're reading _Reaching for the Invisible God_ by Philip Yancey. I haven't been terribly impressed with it. It goes on and on about how we can't see God and how that's troubling for some. I'm not much for "preachy" books, though, so there's a good chance you'd like it if you like that kind of writing. We're reading R.C. Sproul's _Not a Chance_ next and I think I'll like that more. I'm jealous of your Harry Potter. I am not usually a fantasy gal but I just adore the Harry Potter series.

Matilda, I had weird dreams Saturday night! Enjoy your warmness!

    Hi, Lisa!

Linda, I hope you don't find any unpleasant surprises under the toys!

Schmoodle, hope the rest of your day is as productive as your morning.

    Cyndi, have a happy day!
  • Kara, Harry was suggested by one of the teens not a book club member but an eavesdropper at Karen's house. She heard us discussing "heavy" books and told us we needed to "lighten up". Smart kid!
  • Monday, Monday...

Heidi - I'm hoping the ticket will make my son a bit more cautious! Now if only I could get him to lower the volume on the radio. Have fun today.

    Okie -

    Kara - Good for you!

Debbie - Hope you got more sleep in. Brr.

Ruth - I'd be exchanging glances with you! I'm rather impatient, to put it mildly. Happy quilting.

Matilda - I'd love to dream about lounging on a beach for a change

Lisa and Linda and Cyndi -

Schmoodle - Oooh - I think I need to make myself some taco bake. Yum. I love the quiet when it is just me awake. I have another half hour.

Gotta get to the store today. I wish my teen was more helpful with what he'd like for dinners; I hate meal planning while trying to please us all. I've been putting in an hour on the treadmill for the last few day, going very slowly. It feels great to be exercising again.

    Have a great day everyone.
  • Good morning!!

It's the start of another week. I am now wondering when our 100th day of school was. It probably has already passed. This week should be full and we are expecting more snow tomorrow.

Last night I cooked chickpea tacos. They were yummy and my son ate them(always a good sign). DH also thought they were good. Tonight I am trying a new cabbage reciepe.

    Have a great day!!
