Newbeee...trying to loose the last 20 lbs.

  • Pretty excited about finding this site!!! Lots of threads/groups/suggesions and information about something that concerns me...weight. My Mom was extremely overweight and her quality of life was limited. She basically became a hermit and did not want to go out. She suffered arthritis/varicose veins and all kinds of skin infections. I swore that I would never let myself get to that stage. I have had 15-20 lbs overweight for some time now and really want to work hard at getting the pounds off. I am currently on the "Lean for Life" plan which limits carbs to 50-100 a day with a weekly "protein day". Looking forward to meeting new people and supporting others along the way.

    I weight train by using kettlebells and walk. I wish I could do more but after playing soccer for 30 years, my knees are shot.
  • Welcome, glad to have you join us! Since Chicks can be overwhelming at first, I suggest you look for a Support group, Chat, or Challenge to join. Small groups of friends to help keep you motivated and make it easier to get connected. Find one you like that fits your needs, or inspires you, and just post to join.
  • Thanks, Penguin..it is overwhelming...I will take this week and weekend to do a little inside research and join some groups, chat or challenge like you suggest. This site is great...exactly what I needed!
