Super Stoked! Getting a free treadmill!

  • So far, I've been using the game, Walk it Out with my Wii balance board. it's a great way to start, but already, after almost 4 weeks, I've had to eliminate all song with less than 130 bpm, and probably should eliminate all under 145. To make it harder, I could ACTUALLY walk (using the nunchuck and wiimote). So, I started to look on craigslist for a secondhand one.

Then, today, a friend of mine said that she was just given a brand new treadmill (nothing fancy, a workhorse, yet highly rated) from a mutual friend of ours when she moved. She bought it to get fit and lose weight, but then her physician told her not to use it, so it's basically unused. My friend just doesn't have room for it, so is asking if I would like it. A big YES!!!!

I don't know details yet of what type, but it's FREE and works properly, so WHO CARES?

So, So excited. I'm using walking and soon, aerobics to lose weight. I'll add some strength training after that. A person can always walk and I've never met an overweight daily walker! Walking outside is better, of coruse, but when it's winter or too hot, options are great.

    Yay!!! Just had to share!
  • wow, thats great!! Enjoy and get your work out on! What a great gift.
  • I was so excited, I wasn't overly clear. To make the game Walk it Out harder, I could use a treadmill instead of walking in place. So, excited!
  • Ah that is a GREAT idea with the Game! And Congrats! Talk about fate! you needed one and you got one! That is so cool!
  • Greatest gift anyone could give you...
  • Not as great as free or new BUT I got a pretty nice one for 50$ from a friend! I have been using it for C25K. I am starting week 3 in about 30 minutes.

It really is. The gal who bought it is having real problems with her knee and heart and needs to get the weight off, but with being in so much pain from the knee, that's hard. She gave it to our mutual friend who has been on a huge weight loss journey too (over 100 pounds so far with about 40-50 to go), but she lives in a cramped townhouse, so can't fit it. And so that friend seeing that I'm dedicated to this is passing it along. She could have sold it, but isn't. That's when you know how special friends are.
  • Awesome!!
  • Awesome! I love my treadmill.
  • Thats so awesome! I don't have cardio equipment in my home but my university has a gym thats free for student use so thats fortunate! lol
