Phase 1 recipes allowed first 3 weeks???

  • Hello all IP dietiers!

I start my IP process tomorrow and I love all the recipes you have shared. I am just confused which ones will apply to someone during the first 3 weeks? I really want to stick to the protocol and not have any avoidable slip ups. Some of the posted recipes say "not sure if this is approved" and that scares me to branch out and be able to mix things up starting out.

Can you share with me/link me to your best allowed recipes????

    Thanks for your help!

  • the first three weeks are the same exact eating plan as your first 90% of your weight loss. I have been on the diet for almost five months and the eating is almost the exact same every day. I don't shake much up or have much variety, but you can't beat the results of the diet.

What I always tell my daughter or anyone else I recommend to the diet...if you are wondering or asking yourself or thinking...can I ....should I....is this allowed....the answer is no.

Follow your protocol sheet and eat nothing else but what is on that sheet for all of phase one. It is VERY strict but so worth the results...no other diet compares...you will love it...good luck

One of the most helpful things to do is the all of the stickies. They contain a wealth of information.

    #71 kale chips
    #488 roasted turnips

One of the recipes that is so good but certainly does not sound good is kale chips!

I would have NEVER tried this except my friend who is also on IP made them for us to try. My goodness the baking/roasting in the oven changes the whole structure of the kale.

I have some turnips that I am going to try this week!
  • I pretty much eat the same thing everyday as well.. I have just started mixing up the way I cook things.. Like last night, I made roasted veggies instead of steaming or having salad. Believe it or not roasted veggies are AMAZING.. They take on a totoally different flavor then in their raw state.. I'm siding with Darbs on this, follow protocol. I've been on protocol for just over 2 weeks now. I can SEE the results in my body structure and love when I see the scale has gone down!
  • i just wanted to say good luck. i start tomorrow too and i'm worried the food will taste nasty. hopefully my walden farms order comes in on tuesday so i can have dressing on my salads.

I am not sure if you are talking about the first 3 weeks because you are not allowed restricted foods? I hope not because IP has changed that protocol....You are not allowed to have one restricted right from the beginning of the program.

The IP packets are good, I hate protein powder! (open mind )
I have not tried the WF dressings & foods because I have heard less than favorable reviews not to mention they seem to have quite a bit of chemical in them to make edible. I like making my dressings ............... get creative. I made a new dressing tonight.

    soft tofu
    fresh basil leaves
    EVOO
    sea salt
    garlic

pureed in my magic bullet it is yummy!

keep coming back here. and good luck and much success
  • As for recipes, as long as you aren't using dairy (butter/cheese/sour cream/cream/etc.) or root vegetables. You are fine.

Some coaches will try to help you during the first week or three and, if you can manage it, advise you to not have any salmon (too much fat at first), not have any root vegetables or occasional vegetables, and not have any restricted packets/foods. That is GREAT! It will get you where you want to be BUT, if you can't do it it isn't necessary. You may follow the guidelines as written and have the restricted from the start if it allows you to transition more easily.

For recipes, just make what uses the ingredients on the lists. The recipes in the thread are not really broken out by phase. If you have something that interests you, ask in the daily chat (give us the thread name (1 or 2) and the post number) someone will be glad to help you.
