after the 30 day shred?

  • Not there yet but thinking...what do people do when they finish the shred? I don't want all that work to be for not...I've thought about doing each level on alternate days but I'm sure I'll get bored.

I also have JM's wii 2010 fitness ultimatum...might be something though not as motivating...do people just move on to one of her other dvd's? what's the verdict?
  • After 30 day shred I did ChaLean Extreme and I LOVE IT! I think getting bored is a real concern so I'd agree with your strategy to pick something else. (You can always re-do 30DS later on.)
  • she has a work out called 6 week 6 pack. its pretty challenging, and the moves will also help tone other parts of your body. very light on cardio. i believe its on demand on exercise tv if you want to check it out first
  • I'll have to figure out something until Ripped in 30 comes out March 1st...see some familiar moves and other stuff that has me sweating just watching!
  • I've been using the 30 DS for about 10 months, actually, but I use it as part of an overall rotation. I include a couple of her other DVDs (No More Trouble Zones, Banish Fat Boost Metabolism, and Yoga Meltdown) as well as some old Turbo Jam DVDs I have. I've also used a couple of the Firm DVDs. All of the DVDs I have I've gotten at Target or Wal-Mart.

To be honest, "rotation" makes it sound like I have a planned out schedule. I definitely don't. On any given day I see what video I haven't done in a while, and do that one. Hey, it works for me! And it has the added benefit of keeping me from getting too bored with any one DVD.

Another tip a friend shared with me: Put the video on mute, and listen to some good music while you're working out. I love Jillian, but there's only so many times I can listen to her say the same thing - ditto for any instructor out there.
  • I rotate between Shred, Biggest Loser Boot Camp, biggest Loser Cardio Max (older one) and Biggest loser sculpting so i never get bored with a work out
  • Thanks for all the suggestions everyone. Due to some work commitments my last 10 days seem to be taking much longer but now I think I only have 6 days left...just in time to meet my birthday goal before going on a work trip for 2 days.

Not sure what I'll do but I know Wal-mart had a good selection of BL dvds a few weeks ago so may go back and check it out.
  • I rely on 30DS on the days I haven't allowed myself 30 or 40 minutes to work out. Level 3 still makes me break a sweat and wish it was over!
  • There are lots of dvds out there
Actually, after 30 day shred I quit Curves, bought more dumbbells and kept doing dvds!
*Jackie Warner has some good dvds out there, her extreme one is a good circuit training one
*Jillian has several out there including a kettlebell dvd, a yoga dvd
*Bob Harper has some new good ones. I have his Power Strength, cardio rev (or something like that) and just got his yoga for the warrior today
*Billy Blanks has Tae Bo dvds
*There are other instructors that I don't have, but there is a Ripped series I think? For advanced people there is the P90x series
  • I'm planning on rewarding myself with a couple more of JM's dvds and then working them into the week. At the moment, I think I'll probably get BFBM and NMTZ and I'll start by replacing two shred workouts a week with them. I want to get the YM, too, but I think I'll end up not getting it now and making it my reward for next month along with Ripped in 30.
  • I recently (as in Sunday) bought NMTZ..Ive been using 30DS for about a year on and off...the NMTZ is tough..you'll definately feel it the next day, but I HIGHLY recommend it
