Bras!!!!

  • Ok, so I don't know if I am the only one in the world with this problem - I couldn't be! I hope not, anyway.

I have NEVER been able to find a bra that fits me. Ever. I actually got measured once at Macy's, and it was something like 48B - which they don't even manufacture there. It seems they think if you are overweight, you are always going to have HUGE boobs (kind of like they think every single person that is overweight is 8 feet tall...)!

I just have this horribly weird shape, where I carry all of my weight on top - back, arms, belly - but my boobs don't match. They are a solid B cup, and never change.

I don't know what to do - short of spending a ridiculous amount of money on a custom-made bra. And, even if I did this, my weight has always, always, always, fluctuated so very much (even when I was skinny) that it may not fit all the time.

Especially now that I am on my wight loss journey, I don't know what to do about bras. It is the MOST frustrating thing in the world for me. :-(

Any advice? Or at least anyone else out there that can relate?
  • I can totally relate to you. I have a very small band size compared to my cup size, and that makes it very, very difficult to find bras that work for me. Unfortunately, I have to buy them in expensive shops like Bravissimo (online in the UK). They fit awesomely, but I hate shelling out $35-75 per bra. I am very envious of girls who can buy $10 bras.
  • At my highest, I was a 44B, which is similarly impossible to find. I did manage to find them at Lane Bryant, but their band sizes stop at 44 I believe.

It looks like www.onlybras.com has a quick size finder so you can locate bras in your size (and not just super-expensive ones).
  • I find you have to pay more to get a really good fitting bra. I used to go cheap but now I spend around $80 on one but its so much more comfortable than those cheapies!
  • I had a problem finding bras in cup sizes like J outside of super expensive proper bra stores. And it's probably a good idea to invest in a couple of great bras but I think a girl needs more than 2 bras no? If I remember right Lane Bryant goes up to a 48 online at least but not sure if they have 48Bs. Have you checked Bare Necessities (online underwear store- google them), I bought a bra from them once but then I knew what bra specifically I wanted, but if I remember right, you can shop by size and they had the most obscure sizes and weren't psychotically expensive depending on the bra.
