reintroduction! with progress pictures :)

  • Hi! So, I haven't been on here in a while. I started here in March of '10 but once I got out of school for the summer I got SO busy I didn't have time anymore! I've been crazy crazy busy, and I haven't lost as much weight as I'd hoped.

I started with a drunken revelation in March when I hit 242 pounds, and did pretty well for a couple months. Thankfully I didn't gain any weight, but it was because I was so active during the summer and not because I was watching what I ate at all.

Then last fall I decided to start it up again and I've been doing pretty well since then. When I started paying attention to what I was eating again (October 26th) I was at 230 pounds. I also started exercising pretty regularly for like the first time... ever.

I thought I derailed a little over christmas because I was crazy busy again and stress eating, and I got really depressed afterwards and didn't want to get on a scale, but it turns out I lost five pounds. Go figure. That made me realize that I reeeeallllly do want to lose weight. And I'm trying to really stick with it this time and not get derailed or lose hope if I don't lose as fast/as much as I want to.

I had a picture taken of me today and I realized I don't look too bad in it! In fact... I kinda like it. Then I thought I'd come back on here and compare it to how I looked when I first started last march (because I deleted those god-awful photos from my computer.) So here you go, because before and afters are always so fun (even though this isn't an after, just a "so far.")

    March 2010, 242 pounds:

    and today! January 23, 2011 ... I think 216ish pounds?
(I'm on the left, and too lazy to block my face out.)

and from my friend's phone (just saw this one):

so yay! It's always hard to tell you've lost weight when you see yourself every day, and I honestly just realized today that I actually do look different. It's kind of exciting! And just motivates me more. wowww! Cool!
  • Hey there! Yes, your brain actually works against you in weight loss...you just don't see it unless you look in a picture or something like that. Isn't it amazing?

You look great. Congratulations, and again!
