Great (aka FUNNY) Book on Weight Loss

  • Hi ladies!

I'm reading a great book right now called "The Amazing Adventures of Dietgirl: the Hilarious and Heartwarming Tale of a Real-Life Superhero who got happy from the outside in" by Shauna Reid. It is AWESOME, so different from most weight loss books! It's not an advice book, it's a blog by an Australian author who lost over 150 pounds over three years. It is SO funny, and eye-opening. Some of those same feelings I have, someone else in the world has! Anyway, I just wanted to share
  • I have that book too and I thought it was really great, so I second your recommendation.
  • Loved it - loaned it right out when done a few years back - her blog is quite entertaining, as well. http://www.dietgirl.org/
  • I read it!

I got frustrated at her at certain parts, like when she'd resort to old habits, but it ended well, so I was okay with it
  • Apparently she's put 20 kilos back on according to her most recent updates on her blog. But i LOVE her style of writing. I read parts of it to my fiance', and it really opened a dialog with us regarding weight and how much it impacts my life, and has impacted my life. He thought it was incredibly funny and witty, and after I explained that I had a lot of those same feelings/issues, he said it was almost as good as having a running dialog from inside my head. He wants to read the whole thing now.
  • I'll have to check it out! I love funny weight loss books. Jen Lancaster's Such a Pretty Fat is another favorite. That was also a 3fc recommendation.
