Just another [soon to be ex]fat chick on a mission.

  • Hi! I'm Aubrey, I'm 25 from Central New York. I'm married to a wonderful man, and have the sweetest 2 year old in the universe....who I just can't keep up with...

    Currently, and for the last year or so, I weigh in between 225-230. I'm 5'3. I know nothing about eating healthy, as I type this I'm indulging in a few [read-at least 20] Hershey kisses from my Christmas stocking. Shocked I still have some left two weeks later? It was a delightful discovery for me as well! I also know nothing about exercise. Oh, and I loathe exercise because I'm a pack a day smoker. I work 40+ hours a week as a hotel manager, so I'm on my feet walking the hotel quite a bit, but that's the extent of my daily exercise.

    Today I joined a gym, and I joined the gym's weight loss challenge. It's a 12 week program. I will train [with my team] 3 times a week with a trainer. I will be on my own to exercise the other 4 days, so I'm hoping I can learn a lot from you wonderful ladies.

    I am on a mission. In 2011 I will quit smoking. In 2011 I will be able to chase my little man around without becoming winded. Oh, and I'll look totally hot.

  • Congrats on joining a gym, and welcome to 3FC! I think the support of a trainer and other people will help a lot. Structure with other people is uneasy at first but it's great motivation to see everyone else working with you. Best wishes for 2011!

    Congrats on taking the first step! I know the board can be a little overwhelming, so let me point you toward a few good places to start.

    You might want to check out the 100 lb club, for those on their way to losing or who have lost 100 lbs or more. It's a WONDERFUL, supportive, active group full of great people.

    We also have the 20-somethings, for those in that age range. Another great, active group, so check that out as well.

    We have so many groups by eating plan, small challenges, exercise groups...well, you get the idea! So look around, find some spots that feel right, settle in, and keep posting.

    Can't wait to see you around more!
