Sending and replying to PMs

  • I cant seem to find where I can send and/or reply to PMs. Is there a posting limit/time limit before this function is enabled? I received a PM and would like to reply to it but there is no button that appears that I can click so I can reply, and there is also no button on the individual thread posts that I can click so I can send a PM. Thanks. If it helps, I am using an ipad because my computer is out of commission. I don't have access to a computer either right now.

    Also, what is the icon that is in between the quote button and the reply button at the bottom of the individual post? It has the quotation and the plus sign.
  • I can't answer the part about PMs, but the icon between the quote button and the reply button is the multi-quote button. And because I had to have someone teach me how to use it, I thought I'd pass on that knowledge:

    Hit the multi-quote button for every message that you want to quote. On the last message you want to quote, hit the word "quote" instead. Then you'll see everyone's posts surrounded by the "quote" tags. Delete whatever is inside the quote tags that you don't want to quote and put your comments in between the quotes. So you'll have

    {quote tag} stuff that person A wrote {end quote}
    stuff that you write
    {quote tag} stuff that person B wrote {end quote}
    more stuff that you write
  • New members can receive PMs from mods, but unfortunately newbies can't reply or send new PMs. You'll have that ability after 20 days and 20 posts.

    I'm sorry!
  • Thank you so much! I thought I was going crazy there for a second.
  • oh wow we have to wait 20 days?? *crying* why??
  • I'm sorry! We have a problem with spammers signing up and PMing members with spam. Most people with that agenda are not going to stick around to post 20 times over 20 days and be promoted to a regular member. Sometimes they do, but not often.
  • ohhh that makes a lot of sense!! Thanks for telling me. I didn't think we could PM at all
