just introducing me...

  • Hello to all. My name is Teresa and I am 46 years old. I am mom to six children and am married. I live in Maryland. I am just beginning a weight loss diet and haven't even decided yet what route I will take on my weight loss journey. I currently weigh about 180 pounds and would be happy to lose 40, at least for my first goal. I am not so much interested in what "they" say I should weigh for my height, etc. as much as I am interested in becoming more comfortable with myself and just leading to a more healthy lifestyle. I am setting this 40 pound goal as a new year's resolution, in addition to quitting smoking so I would say I have my work cut out for myself. Any words of encouragement or advice will be greatly appreciated. I do work a full time job and don't do much as far as exercise goes, but am on my feet for 9 hours a day; just not a regular exercise program...lol....looking forward to getting to know everyone....Happy New Year to all.......

    It sounds like you have a really good mindset, which is so important! And we do have successful losers here who also quit smoking, so don't let that stop you! Just get lots and lots of sugar free gum.

    Anyway, we have forums by eating plan, which may help you make a decision on your plan...look at the calorie counters, South Beach, and more to get an idea of what's out there. We also have a 40-somethings forum, for those in your age range.
