Interesting: I lost a few pounds over Xmas...

  • I didn't "diet." I drank some wine, ate some dessert, didn't turn down yummy food that was being served because it seemed fattening.

However, I did notice that I didn't overeat or eat any junk food (e.g. chips, candy, etc.).

I just thought that was interesting. I'm off to make potato pancakes from sweet potato, zucchini, red bliss potato, egg whites and whole wheat flour. :-)
  • Scratch that -- I'm doing Apple-Cinnamon Oatmeal Pancakes! :-)
  • Rachinma-That's awesome!! I am hoping for the same, but I have a feeling my scale will not be so kind. I DID eat some of my candy that I made and also could not leave the cookies alone. Back on plan today with my food and exercise, though! I plan to step onto the scale on Thursday morning to assess any damage done over Christmas.
  • I noticed that I lost a couple pounds when I took a "break" for a few days during a camping trip. I don't think I was so lucky this holiday season. I have been on a mini break for two weeks. I think I gained a pound or two but I feel like I really needed the time to refresh my body and get ready to lose the last 10 pounds. I was horribly sick with a flu yesterday and I couldn't eat at all. Maybe it will balance things out (kidding) LOL
  • Seeing the title on this thread, I went to weigh myself. I thought for sure I would have lost at least a pound since I've been eating very lightly while at my parent's this Xmas. The scale has jumped up 3 lb !! What?? I don't get it.

  • BreathingSpace,

It could be other things. Too often our eating behavior doesn't match the scale, but eventually the scale catches up.
