  • Yeah, I know, I fell of the wagon again. AND I keep on promising and failing.

But I thought I'd set up the New Year weigh in slightly in advance to give us all some thinking space. I don't want to leap into another new year, all excited but ending it the same as I started.......

I've got lots of questions and thought some of you might have some suggestions

What worked for you all this year?
For me it was the breakfast thing. I finally got that cracked last month. I feel so much better and far less like nibbling on naughty bits. Now I need to move on a lot

I thought I'd make more of an effort to keep a diary, blogs here and Food Focus or similar for tracking. Might make all the difference!

I'll keep the numbers, Sunday for me and I'll sort you out as you weigh in.

I'll have a think and come back and add my targets later.

I hope you are all enjoying your christmas, have a good week, read you in the New Year
  • Merry Christmas and take it easy!
  • OK. I have weighed in. As expected I have gained since I fell of the UKFC wagon

So, my New Year, New Me (honestly) January targets are:
    6lbs off
    450 minutes of exercise

    Stef 221: 221: 215 and 450: 0: 450
    Hopefulchick 147: 147: 140 4 and 16: 0: 16 (that's 16 exercise sessions, I think!)
  • I fall off the wagon so often that I'm hardly ever on the wagon, lol. But this year, ...!

Haha, seriously, I'm going for it this year. I've even roped my GP into it this time, I'm on a program. XD
  • I hope it works for us both, marchmallow. Good luck and Happy 2011

Exactly! This year I've learned how to drink water and to get enough sleep. It sounds pathetic, but I really don't care for either, but I've finally gotten to the point of doing what is best for my body. This year, I'm going back to what I know will work if I just gave it enough time. Consistancy is always my problem, but I'm going to make 2011 the year I change that. Goals and all that to come later. For now, cheers to the New Year, good luck to us!
  • Happy New Year, Missjessica. And good luck!
  • I finally decided to weigh myself the other day and was so shocked to see how much I weigh, that it's really kick started me into losing weight this year!

I currently weigh 210 pounds and would love to be nearer 140 pounds by January 2012.

2011 is definitely the year for change for me, and hopefully you all too!
  • Good luck Miss Blue.

Hopefully others will log on and join in soon. Or I shall be a Lonely Loser
  • Hello ladies Happy New Year!

I reached my goal last year and was happily maintaining until December came along with all its goodies!

As a result i've packed a stone back on in less than a month - scary stuff how fast it can go back although I will admit I did go food/drink crazy for a couple of weeks

Goals for January - gym or run 4 times a week
    to lose 7 lbs SW-147 GW-140

Good luck everyone we CAN do this together! x

Last year I found I need exercise to keep me on track, without it for some reasonI find it hard to stick to plan
  • Happy New year, hopefulchick.

Shocking how it doesn't creep but hurtles back on when you take your eye off it!

I've added your month's goals, good luck!
  • Hello everyone It's goal time! My New Year, New Me Jan goal is to be down 5lb and to stick to my calorie target everyday (going well so far!). Cheers to the year of change
  • Hello everyone

I was a regular here until a couple of years ago when I lost my much adored father and fell of the wagon big time, even after two years I've still not managed to get back on. I did join SW for a few weeks but I was never good at the whole weighing in thing.

I havent gained back all the weight I lost but I'd say I must be a good 12 stone maybe a bit more. I plan to cut out the junk and return to exercise,
I look forward to getting to know you all a little more, the poeple who were here a couple of years ago seem to have vanished, hopefully they have been way more successful than I have in keeping the fat at bay.

    Take good care
    Michele
  • Happy New Year everyone!

The main thing that worked for me during 2010 was having a cheat meal. I didn't go over the top, but every time I felt like giving up, I said to myself 'just a few more days' I know this won't work for everyone, but it got me through months of dieting.

My goal this month is to lose 14 lbs. I'm setting a high goal because I'm sure alot of water weight will come off due to overindulging during the festive period!

All the best for a great loss in 2011!
  • Welcome (back) Michele! I'm sorry about your father. Hopefully you'll find us new "fat chicks" just as encouraging as the old ones Good luck on your goals this year, looking forward to getting to know you as well!
