I started maintenance about 2 1/2 weeks ago....I was doing 1200 calories a day there at the end and finally hit my goal of 140. It took forever to get rid of the last 5 pound!
The first week on maintenance I went up to 1300 calories, the second week I went up to 1400, and this week I've been doing 1550 calories....and I've lost 3 pounds in the past 10 days or so?? Why would that be? Not complaining I guess, but I'm now 137 - 3 pound past my goal. Just kind of weird that I would now be losing FASTER then I was at 1200 calories. Should I raise them more or just see what happens? I was planning to try to stay around 1500-1600 a day for good.


Actually it's not that unusual for people to raise their calories and then continue to lose, judging from posts on 3FC. I'd say, take things slowly. If you want to raise your calories more, go ahead, but a little bit at a time. And, keep up with your regular exercise/physical activity. Eventually your loss will stop.
