It's been interesting calculating new points for all my foods. I've had points for my regular foods memorized for quite some time now. I think it's good that this new program is kind of making me pay attention again.

So far the biggest points difference I've encountered is that my Vitatops went from 1 point to 3 But everthing else I've looked up is the same points or only 1 off from the old program. And I'm loving the free fruit! Just curious what you all have encountered that had a big change in points?

Fiber One bars 1 to 3 - ugh I miss them!

My 'go to' snacks all went up - vitatops, kashi bars, popcorn, ice cream bars. I know I was eating those too often so I'm glad they went up. Now, instead of having 3+ more of those a day, on average, I'm having 1 or none. Some days, it's worth the points to me to have one of those things and some days it's not. Now my snacks are mainly fruit.

I had been surviving on prepared meatballs from my local grocery. They were heat and serve, and were a very filling, quick dinner. 4 of these were 6 points. Now, 4 are 15 points! (I've dropped them.)

A couple of Lean Cuisines have gone up, too, from 5-6 to 8-9 points. They're mostly rice or pasta. I hope that changes in the program will encourage Lean Cuisine and others to change to protein/vegetables!

I've noticed lots of +1 point changes, too. Activia, fruit juices, cold cereals.

Oh, I forgot one! My standard breakfast (1 cup nonfat greek yogurt, 1 cup blueberries, 1/2 cup Uncle Sam cereal) went from 4 to 7 points, even though blueberries went from 1 to 0!

But they are all power foods, are very good nutritionally speaking (Uncle Sam cereal is high fiber, low sugar and has omega-3s) and fill me up - plus it is a delicious meal! So that is still my default breakfast.

My standby breakfast of Activia and Kashi Go Lean went from a very reasonable 5 points to 8 points.

Fiber 1 bars also had a big jump.

I sure hope so, I'm tired of them being low in calories but essentially still not good food. I need to use a lot of pre-prepared foods cos I can't really cook for myself in my medical condition, but it's hard to find that sort of food that is affordable and not full of salt and fat. All the Lean Cuisines that we get here are white pasta based. Pasta with broccoli and chicken, pasta with chicken and mushroom...

I am not sure what avacados were before but now 1 medium sized one is 10-12 points! And it is a fruit! Bummer.

The 100 cal ones are only 2 points

Most things have gone up 1 point although some have stayed the same. A few have gone up 2 points, although that is usually foods that were more food in the first place. That is, going from 6 to 8. I get 6 more points now so it has been easy to stay within my daily points. I've only used a very few weekly points. The ones that went up are mostly high carb foods particularly if no fiber. The high fat foods were already penalized by the old formula so they haven't changed as much.

The thing i think is funny is that everyone is stressing the foods going up in points, but our allowed points for the day also increased! I just try to keep that in mind.

Well it's more about the percentage that an item's points have gone up for me. Like my breakfast sandwich went from 5 to 7 points, but the increase in my daily allotment covers that and it doesn't bug me. But the vitatops tripling in points, took it from a regular snack to something I'll only allow occasionally. That said, it's probably for the best that I'm eating fewer of those
