So I was complaining to my brother how I'm not losing fast enough and he told me I should run on the treadmill with a garbage bag around my body...I thought he was joking but then he told me to google "weight cutting" and I read all about it on wikipedia. It did mention how "Garbage bags can be worn against the skin to eliminate cooling through sweat evaporation." Has anyone ever tried this? If so, how were your results like?
that really doesn't sound worth doing, or safe.
try increasing the intensity, weights, doing intervals. HiiT is really great for cutting fat.
Aside from feeling ridiculous (I'm a klutz and would no doubt trip over the bag and fall off the treadmill), it really does nothing for fat loss. You will temporarily lose water, though. Be careful, dehydrating yourself is extremely dangerous especially if you are exerting yourself!
I definitely would not do this, even to lose a few lbs of water weight that will come back when you start drinking fluids again. I mean, the point of it is to lose weight before a competition and the athletes know fully that they will gain back every ounce in a matter of hours/days.
try walking/running uphill outside. with the cold air, this is much harder than in reg. temps. thus increasing your intensity even if you are just walking. even if there are no hills. and when you get done, feel like wonder woman! ha! i did it!
ohh wow I'm an idiot...I totallly did not see that info was under the heading "DEHYDRATION"---that is def NOT safe....I dont know why but for some reason I thought that technique was for losing fat weight...ok so nvm..scratch that
