Getting Ready for T-Day

  • Well I am in week 10 of my third time as a Weight Watcher. Of course I have been watching my weight for a long time, but it has been going in the wrong direction. It doesn't help that I live with two people who can pretty much eat whatever they want.

Anyway so far so good. My family is adjusting to the "new" dishes and I am trying to not to stress about planning food. I do find with a 17 year old that I have to double everything, or my husband doesn't get enough dinner.

I have been nursing a problem with my leg, so I haven't been able to exercise. I hope to have this cleared up this week so I am looking for ideas on how to get in the groove. Ideas on how to find time in my schedule to fit in exercise are welcome.

Well that is me. My overall goal is to get my weight down so that we can take a trip (possibly a cruise) for my son's graduation and not be embarrassed by my weight. I probably won't be a slim and trim as I was in my 20s, but hopefully will just look at little more "normal" - whatever that is.
  • Welcome and good luck!

  • Hi! Congrats and good luck on making your goal.

I've found that if I make an "appointment" to work out, I am more likely to look forward to and accomplish working out. If i leave it open ended like "oh, i'll work out later today", 9 out of 10 times, I get distracted and never work out!

I'm sorry your leg has been bothering you. Have you tried heat and cold packs? I don't know what is wrong with your leg but the general philosophy of RICE- rest, ice, compression and elevation with Motrin, has always helped for me.
  • Hi there!

I've been nursing various problems and finally got myself to a chiro to get sorted out. :P As far as fitting exercise in... Well, I finally gave in and started waking up earlier. This is huge for me because I am by no means a morning person.

Thanks to AKim for RICE. My ankle has been playing up (not used to me walking on it properly).
  • Welcome! My DH is another one of those guys who can eat anything and everything! I am working really hard at eating what I need and staying away from the rest.

Best wishes! Congrats! on your success so far!
