My story nutshelled

  • Hi girls,
I was always a heavy kid, probably due to the fact that my dad and I would eat all night and watch tv. I don't watch tv at all anymore. I however keep odd hours because my husband is gone for work from 1:00PM*2:00AM. My sister, my brother and my parents are all very athletic but I NEVER was.

Since I was 18 I have gone back and forth between 135-235 lbs constantly. (sz 9 jeans to sz 20) I am 5'7". Currently I am at the worst point which is the 235. The only way I have been able to lose before was on phentermine but I was taking some (and losing great, down 30lbs) before I got pg(stopped when I got a positive test) and we lost the baby at 10wks. After that I got depressed and did nothing but play World of Warcraft and eat for months.

My husband is 50 and I am 22 so we definintly want a child soon before my hubby gets older. So I need help. I need a nice way to try and diet without my speed ): I can't risk taking anything that could cause another mc. I wanted to lose before we got pg again but I am feeling like I may be pg again regardless of where I wanted to be. (This however is not for sure as I cant test until the 5th of November). I want to be healthy for the baby but I can not find any information on food/low cal intake healthy for a pregnancy.

Also I feel like I have reached a point of no more motivation. I can get myself pumped for about three days and stick to something, but I ALWAYS fall off of the wagon. My husband is sweet and supportive but I know deep down im letting him down as well as myself. I was about 40 lbs lighter when we met and got married less than a year ago.
If anyone can give me any advice, any pointers, any info, I will be very appreciative.
    Thank you!

  • Hello and welcome! I'm afraid I don't have any helpful advice, but your story really touched me. I feel like I almost could have written it myself. I'm married to an older man and, though I haven't had any miscarriages, we've had a lot of fertility problems. So lots of hugs and a warm welcome as you join us here. I wish you the best of luck meeting your goals and expanding your family.
  • Hi and welcome!

I used to play World of Warcraft too. Been playing since 2005 but stopped a few months ago due to finances and wanting to spend the time with my husband (who does not play). Night elf druid from Staghelm here! Tree FTW and boomkin secondary spec! I certainly do miss the game but am finding that the less I sit on my tail in front of the computer, the more active I am becoming. Good luck with your goals! We are close to the same weight and it seems like we want to lose the same amount too! We could motivate each other!
  • Welcome. The best of luck to you on your weight loss journey . I started a group days ago for the newbies that you are more than welcome to join:
